B>B Personal answerI don't think there's enough housing about available for the homeless people to make this a relevant question. I think the majority of people who are homeless would be sleeping in their homes if they had them. This is coming from somebody who has been homeless previously. Homelessness and addiction and mental health are very interconnected. At the time I was homeless, I was going to serious depression after somebody very close to me passed away and I fell into addiction. I was suffering from severe PTSD that limited my basic thoughts and functions and I could not take care of my very basic needs, never mind trying to get myself a place to live. If you aren't mentally able to work to feed yourself or pay for a home and you don't have an income it makes it very difficult. Luckily I was able to get out of that situation and today I have a family and a home and things are much better. Because I've lived in that situation myself I understand the judgment that the general public has towards people in that situation and it's disgusting and the reality is majority of people have no idea what these people are going through. the only way people are going to be able to get better is if they are supported to do so. So if you aren't willing to help then you haven't really got any solution to the problem.
