Send supplies rather than funds and give to the organizations that help the community rather than the govt. Help more innocent victims.

 @9TXBP2YIndependentfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

Depends what aid is for. Case by case basis. Overall, should try to maintain or decrease if possible.

 @9T64K8RConservativefrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

Decrease, focus on reducing our national budget deficit, still give some humanitarian aid to warring countries and to help poorer nations.

 @9T3VJQSNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

Canadian aid spending should prioritize security with regard to health and safety and fostering our global economy and be regulated so that it is not corporations who profit the most off of it. We should also not fund countries whose governments are committing human rights violations or that are destabilizing or exploiting other poorer countries.

 @9DDB3M2from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

I fully support giving humanitarian aid to other countries. But I think the current government or Canada sometimes or regulary forget about its own native citizens (First Nations specifically)

I say this because I myself am a indigenous resident of Canada (First Nation/Native/Canadian/Native American) and seems like the current and past goverment parties never address the issues surrounding First Nation communities.

I dont have clean water, and Trudeau said he would fix the problem back in 2015 and its 2023 and I still got to filter and boil my water before use.

 @9D7X3DVfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Neither. However deny aid to countries that have human rights violation and/or harbor promote terrorism.

We should ultimately focus on solving our own domestic issues first before sending more money internationally.

 @9D4V5MCfrom New Brunswick  answered…1yr1Y

Increase, but ensure we are funding our own agencies in Canada to support Canadians at the same level.

Decrease for countries who harbor/promote terrorism, commit human rights violations. Spending should be more transparent

 @9WYDMSDfrom British Columbia  answered…3wks3W

Eliminate until the debt is eliminated and only allow foreign aid spending in the form of building agriculture and industry and providing training completely with no expectation of getting it paid back. end all forms of monetary aid except in the case of liberation movements who fight against occupying forces that are not considered right wing or neo nazi extremist groups.

 @9WSS4QBfrom Ontario  answered…4wks4W

Decrease

Decrease

Decrease considerably our foreign aid spending. You have 39+ million Canadians who depend on you to ensure their lives are worth living and contributing to Canada in a meaningful way.

Similar to the instructions one would receive while flying in a plane with family members. Make sure you put the oxygen mask on yourself first, before helping anyone else, even children. Because if you pass out before you finish helping them, you are both dead. I recognize my privilege in being born in a country free from war, but on average how much of that foreign aid actually reaches the people it is intended to help?

We have an incredible chunk of our population who cannot afford to buy a modest home. Help Canadians get back on their feet first. Then let them decide how they want to help people in need.

 @9WLCXG3from Alberta  answered…4wks4W

I think immigrants should stay in theyre own country and not use people for there green card to emotionally abuse others or mentally and physically abuse themselevs in ways, STAY AWAY

 @9WKLBWBfrom British Columbia  answered…4wks4W

Decrease until the debt is eliminated and only give aid to liberation movements fighting foreign occupation or in the case of environmental disasters.

 @9VD78J8Rhinocerosfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

Increase, but only for countries that have no human rights, when we are in a strong financial position to afford it.

 @9V9R5P2Conservativefrom Quebec  answered…2mos2MO

Canada should not only decrease the human aid spending on other countries, they should try to eliminate it fully because most of our foreign aid that is sent to other countries is not getting received or is being sold there. I was in Lebanon and I saw different foreign aid from all over the world being sold on the regular rather than helping people with it.

 @9V4JT2Cfrom Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

Decrease, until we are able to better help out own country. As our poor and homeless populations have increasing due to rising cost of living and nothing is being done with minimal supports

 @9TZYRSKfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

decrease, as our leaders tend to forget about us, the people, especially the indigenous peoples. I do agree with helping the people who need it, but we still need the support too.

 @9TB2T59from British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

Only if an allied country such as Britain, France, America and other European NATO countries. But only if the conflict is happening within that country.

 @9T8K783from Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

depends, because Canada at the moment is supplying aid to Israel which i'm completely against, but with the right countries I think it should be increased.

 @9RDR257New Democraticfrom Manitoba  answered…4mos4MO

I believe that while we should still provide humanitarian support, the gov. should focus on Canadian issues, like the lack of clean water for native communities

 @9RCGFXGfrom Ontario  answered…4mos4MO

Increase, but only for countries not currently commiting human rights violations, war crimes, or violating Geneva conventions.

 @9QZCYDNfrom Ontario  answered…4mos4MO

Decrease giving money to countries that harbor or promote terrorism, or ones that have lots of human rights violations that cannot be trusted. Give that money to ones that don't fit that criteria. Probably keep the overall amount of aid the same.

 @9NK2RH9from Alberta  answered…6mos6MO

Foreign aid should not be given to UN organizations - UNRWA - which have/proven to foster hate, discrimination, and the normalization of antisemitism

 @9MW8Y2BConservativefrom Ontario  answered…6mos6MO

satisfied with the current amount but it should be stopped if the country violates human rights audaciously.

 @9LL92B4from Ontario  answered…7mos7MO

it depends on how much their receiving because they could also give to the homeless or people that need it

 @9KSKML3from Ontario  answered…8mos8MO

Maintain foreign aid to countries that have been impacted by Canada's Colonial Legacy but allow locals to determine allocation and encourage community participation

 @9KNP36Ffrom Saskatchewan  answered…9mos9MO

Increase for countries that share our interests and values, and decrease/stop aid to countries that do not need the aid or don't share our values/are committing human rights violations

 @9K6M454from Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

there is a good portion of this money being sent to somewhere else for goods, but why need it for stuff that doesn't effect us? completely dumb.

 @9K6HR9Kfrom Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

In a land of this, we wouldn't do anything as much as else to the world, besides of what is of important need to the local economy.

 @9K58RGLfrom Yukon Territory  answered…9mos9MO

Maintain current levels while dramatically reducing any aid that goes to countries that do not support Western ideals. Specifically no countries that support terrorism, how's large terrorist bodies like Gaza, or treat women and orphans, or gay people, like garbage.

 @9JWTCPTfrom Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

Not another nickle to any ally without independant evaluation regarding ANY human right violations committed & EVERY instance of civilian casualties. Suspended aid can be released if all has be done in good faith and if approved exoect uncompromising compliance accountability

 @9JWMJCZ from Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

Well mostly we will aid only the country which is getting attacked first. We will not help the country which attacked first, we will help out when there's a natural disaster.

 @9HCP7QVfrom Alberta  answered…12mos12MO

Eliminate foreign aid altogether. If a govt has enough money to send out of country, is it only because either taxes are too high, funds are being misused, but most likely both.

 @9H64L5Tfrom British Columbia  answered…12mos12MO

Spend that money on helping our own citizens such as those caught in the drug epidemic, the homeless, or those struggling with debilitating mental illness or disease. Why does our government refuse to spend money on its own people but hand over millions (or even billions) to other countries that are dealing with problems. It’s absurd.

 @9GZYG4Jfrom Quebec  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease, and deny aid to countries that harbor and/or promote terrorism, commit crime against children and/or crime against humanity.

 @9GML2K3Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

I am satisfied with the currrent amount but decrease aid to countries that harbor or promote terrorism

 @9FT46P4from Manitoba  answered…1yr1Y

I think we should focus on our own foreign aid spending, how much we need to decrease/increase it, before we look into decreasing or increasing other foreign countries aids.

 @9FKWVLVfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Same amount, but build procedures to ensure that the money is going to bettering the nations economy for all and prevent foreign aid spending going to government officials.

 @9FKT7BYfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I think it should decrease a little because they should spend a lot of money to make sure that there are no more people who are addicted to drugs because they can be dangerius to children and other people

 @9FKMM2Tfrom Saskatchewan  answered…1yr1Y

It should not be increased anymore, keep it at the same level and allow inflation to decrease the impact.

The government should support those countries by empowering them to invest within the economies and growth of relevant sectors other than just offering aid

 @9F2XS9Mfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I believe that it should be increased for countries that have no human rights violations, nevertheless, Canadians should be helped first. There is far too much going on in our country that the government is neglecting and instead they are using their energy to support rather useless things. Canadians are suffering more then ever, and our so called "democratic" system is not listening to our voices.

 @9WFR74Q from Alberta  answered…1mo1MO

Yes, in cases of a national/international crisis in foreign countries should foreign aid spending be increased, and only to countries that have no Human Rights Violations.

 @9VKQQKVfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

Increase but to the countries that need and not to countries that are engaging in on going wars, and to those who are in actual need of aid.

 @9VGGMWSConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

Decrease. We need to look after and support our own citizens and reduce our national debt before helping other countries.

 @9SNLZ3Sfrom British Columbia  answered…3mos3MO

We should redirect these foreign aid spending to indigenous communities such as First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities to insure their health and wellbeing before helping people over seas as it’s important for decolonization.

Focus on the needs of Canadians first. If we cannot ensure all Canadians are free from discrimination, have health care, food, clean water we cannot be helping others. Make sure the needs of Canadians are met before helping others. Of course it would be nice it Canada can help everyone it's just not realistic. We should only help other countries who need it most.

 @9BVGQPZfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9BRDHPCfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

They should increase it since there's a lot of homeless people/animals, but also a lot of families with lots of kids have to work extra hard to provide for their children.

 @9BL4FYNfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

The government should ensure that the needs of its citizens are met prior to proving aid and support to other countries
