YES - I think the Federal government should pay the full fee of Bachelor Degree program and 50% for Master's program (PHD is full responsibility of student). But all recipients must work 5 consecutive years within Canada or for a Canadian owned company; if they choose not to, then the full cost of university will have to be repaid within 5 - 8 years.

 @8NZWYH6from Manitoba  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes and the government should work towards making tuition more affordable for post secondary students first while making the transition to free post secondary education.

University is a buisness like a martial arts school. It is also not required by law to attend unlike highschool.

 @B2L42TMfrom Ontario  answered…4 days4D

Public universities should only charge admission administrative fees but private universities can charge whatever the market is willing to pay

 @B2KLS5Mfrom Mindoro Occidental  answered…5 days5D

Yes, but this policy should be paired with increased public funding for universities to avoid compromising the quality of education.

 @B2GG52Pfrom Ontario  answered…2wks2W

No, do not cap, however, reward completion of programs and tuition forgiveness for students who within 4 years of a drop out have become productive members of society.

 @B2DNVXQfrom Ontario  answered…2wks2W

Education is a provincial responsibility. I believe that the provinces should cap tuition or make university free.

 @B2CHY7Wfrom Alberta  answered…3wks3W

tuition should be capped to those who can't afford but still want/need education so taxes won't get too high but still affordable

 @8CDLTDLConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

No, however one's inability to afford the schooling tuition should not jeopardize their ability to get accepted into the school.

 @9JCS9GBConservativefrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only to Canadian born citizens. And limit number of foreign students so universities do not just take foreign students for the money

 @9H6GJSNfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Cap it at a reasonable rate to ensure the College still makes money to pay their instructors/professors to ensure fair pay and fair pay to students.

Tuition should be free. Higher education is not a luxury. It should be a fundamental right. It is not far that poor people cannot afford to go to university and make less money because higher paying jobs require more training and education.

 @9F5FC8S from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

Aspects of university education should be free to eliminate financial barrier and subsequent financial burden. Alleviated costs will increase accessibility, improve academic performance, produce stronger graduate outcomes and improve our society/economy. Associated costs with university education should fall on the student, for example textbooks, but these should be made available at a more cost-effective rate. We should be removing all funding for immigration initiatives/foreign aid and investing in our students.

 @9DJYYZ3from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but the government should also increase funding for universities specifically in the areas of undergraduate education and research funding.

 @9DB85ZFfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

Cap the proportion of budget that can be used for administration costs and the amount of maximum pay. Have tuition costs proportionate to the overall budget. Subsidize schools that attract and promote viewpoint diversity and fund/promote open debate on all issues.

 @9D6XJTDfrom Quebec  answered…1yr1Y

Tuition costs should be reduced as they are way higher than they should be at this time. following that reduction they should be tied to inflation.

 @B27HTNXGreenfrom Ontario  answered…1mo1MO

Canadians should have access to free Canadian education while foreign students and immigrants should have raised tuition costs.

 @B27DGQCfrom Quebec  answered…1mo1MO

 @9VK9ZLVfrom Quebec  answered…4mos4MO

 @9RPSWGHConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

 @9QZCYDNfrom Ontario  answered…7mos7MO

I think that the government should provide funding for education like many places in Europe, but only part of it. They should also make sure universities aren't overcharging anyone

 @9QYHT2Wfrom British Columbia  answered…7mos7MO

If you go to post Secondary, that is a personal choice. If you choose to go to an expensive school, that's the individuals choice.

 @9MKB35GConservative from New Brunswick  answered…9mos9MO

There should be free post-secondary education offered by the government for each province, as well as private institutions whose rate should be determined by the free market.

 @9MB3VWLfrom British Columbia  answered…9mos9MO

No, the government should attempt to find a way to decrease tuition rates (at least proportionally to inflation) by figuring why it increased (aside from inflation)

 @9L8WLPDfrom Pennsylvania  answered…10mos10MO

only for domestic students international students should pay more and should have second priority to domestic students

 @9KG9KSMfrom Montana  answered…11mos11MO

University is becoming too expensive. Students should have more opportunities for scholarships and grants. Universities should have regulations on how much they can charge on tuition but at the end of the day universities are private and charge as much as we wish. We need more low cost affordable public universities.

 @9K6M454from Ontario  answered…11mos11MO

 @8TVD7ZTfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

post secondary education should be free for all, provided students grades are within the norm. Should the student fail their course, they should then be responsible for the next term/year tuition. Education is a right, but it also is not a free ride. After graduating the student should then repay 1/3 of their education costs over 5 year period and remain in Canada for 5 years to expand Canada's economy. Indiginous people should be exempt from repaying.

 @8THC26Cfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and the government should provide free university education only if the student successfully completes their degree

 @8TBDVVPfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

It would depend on size of university. Cap on limits of international students.

 @8TB3T3Hfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8T99ZQLConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

post second education should be free. The fact these universities can raise the rates as much as they want prove they have failed in their primary goal.

 @8T3RW2VNew Democraticfrom Manitoba  answered…4yrs4Y

Students should just be able to go to college or university and have that out of the way when they pay. Also tuition is stupid. Because they have other things they need to buy like shelter

 @8T3NDKXfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Education should be free. People need to learn. If people don't have enough money to pay for their schooling then they cant get a job. If they don't get a job it will be harder to keep the economy flowing.

 @8SZW7RWfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but keeping in mind universities will raise and introduce other fees when tuition caps are imposed

 @8SZ4XV2from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, I suggest that we make University and Colleges acceptance rates lower as well, resulting to qualified people getting in while not increasing the costs for tuitions. I will also propose an increase on tuition costs for International Students.

 @8S5WC53from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

There should be some sort of subsidy for university students based on there ability to pay full tuition

 @8S42TXJfrom Nova Scotia  answered…4yrs4Y

Depending on what it is i would say yeah because some of the tuition rates are rediculas amounts every year.

 @8S3NTLNfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Universities are being more and more out dated, we should focus on alternative education strategies and BA equivalencies, if you can learn 90% of a university degree online for free then their is something wrong with the system

 @BpsharpeConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Free post-secondary education funded by public tax dollars should follow student enrolment to both public or private institutions. This would create competition between private and public institutions, leading to higher learning standards. Program offerings, or at least recommendations, should be tailored to current or perceived future job market conditions to prevent high numbers of low demand skilled workers
