Make it free for under 16
@8CSGLXN4yrs4Y
Yes, as long as transit is made to be more affordable.
@9MCJ3PYConservative6 days6D
It really depends because yes we can have more public transit like rentable e bikes and scooters but we already have buses and bikes so why waste the money when it could go to housing
@96VPR232yrs2Y
It needs to be improved. It needs an over viewed and compare our entire system to better working ones in Canada and consult their engineers on how to improve our current system.
Calgary could easily convert their trains to driverless and within a couple of years the initial investment to convert would be back in the bank because you're not paying a crew of conductors
@96TWJF32yrs2Y
make it free for below 18
@96JJRBT2yrs2Y
Yes, and we should further invest in other forms of public transportation as well.
@96HHQ782yrs2Y
@96GN9N62yrs2Y
No need to increase government spending but make transportation cheaper or free.
@96GHPCH2yrs2Y
I think they should add a bit more but not a lot
@963853N2yrs2Y
they should make it free and on the goverment pockets
@95RNP2L2yrs2Y
Yes, and work towards making the country accessible to all citizens
Yes if it's to reduce cars on the road
@95N68GP2yrs2Y
spend more on making the area walkable and bike-able. less car centric design.
@95K5YQG2yrs2Y
Yes, it's clear that Canada's cities are going to need investments in transit, and we're going to need this infrastructure to be built as our planet is warming, and we need to reduce our overall CO2 emissions from transportation as much as possible. EVs and fuel-efficient cars can only do so much, but they don't work for everyone as cars are often a big expense for many people.
@95J396X2yrs2Y
Yes, to help the wallet of the country
@95HDYKV2yrs2Y
Public transportation should be privatized but the government should regulate and have oversight of the system
@959RYHY2yrs2Y
Yes, If the spending goes to both Free/fordable public transportation, as well as making them more environmentally friendly.
@958MNJX2yrs2Y
Government should balance the way he spends his received money on
@958GW642yrs2Y
yes and improve bike lanes pedestrian walk ways and especially safety from cars
@957Y89S2yrs2Y
yes, the government should add more public subways
Yes, in collaboration with municipalities and provinces.
@956CYVH2yrs2Y
Yes, but use the money thats going to foreign countries instead of adding more money or taking away from other funded things.
@93Q782M2yrs2Y
No, the current price is ok but all students should be allowed to use public transit for free until the age of 18.
@93KJD862yrs2Y
My government should be taking all the taxes they get from the gas and making my driving commute to work more pleasurable.
@93GM3TGLibertarian2yrs2Y
Yes, to the extent it reduces road maintenance and construction costs
@93CR3BHNew Democratic2yrs2Y
Provide cheaper public transit that’s environmentally friendly. I want two stances here.
@939BS892yrs2Y
yes because some people don't have enough money coming in to afford a car especially with how expensive gas is
@933LMPX2yrs2Y
Possibly, case by case... Rural potentially.
@92YRZFN2yrs2Y
Yes but the extra money should be going towards fast, efficient assessable and affordable for all
The spending is fine, just increase the accessibility of public transportation
@92RTRZZ2yrs2Y
Yes, provide more free, enviro-concious transportation.
@92MWQCF2yrs2Y
Yes, but only environmentally friendly solutions that do not cause a lot of noise and do not require a high fare, and being able to walk to where you need to go should be promoted instead as much as possible
@92KJ2VM2yrs2Y
Yes, but with more focus on growing cities and towns across ontario
Neither. This is not in federal jurisdiction
@928VBDF2yrs2Y
Yes, however I don't think its a first priority as I think there are better things the government can spend money on. That being said I do think our public transportation systems could use some work so maybe in the future we can focus on updating that.
@928SH732yrs2Y
Make public transportation free and more accessible to people with disabilities, at least for long distances.
@927SG462yrs2Y
@924XH2G2yrs2Y
No, but they should put funding forward to help lower the cost for people constantly relining on the bus or public transport
@923F9N32yrs2Y
No they shouldnt,but make sure to everyonr pay their rent.
@8ZYPVGN2yrs2Y
Later on in our future as of now our public transportation is one our least concerns when it comes to funding
@8ZHV85NConservative2yrs2Y
Only if the funding is required to keep with population growth
@8ZFVK9G2yrs2Y
no they should spend all their money on a new way of printing money so we can have one dollar bills in Canada to throw at strippers rather than coins
I'm fine what's going on now, it's just that governments should do a better job of enforcing payment for the transit instead of increasing or decreasing spending.
@8Z6P9KQ2yrs2Y
Yes, if the government spends more than 50% of their travel time using public transportation. No, if they use mostly (their own) vehicle/s.
@8Z5KNTP2yrs2Y
Yes, but only if it goes towards environmentally friendly solutions. But we should also spend more money on better things
@8Z46Y9T2yrs2Y
We need to maintain current infrastructure and set a program for ongoing maintenance before building new!
@8YYK6BW2yrs2Y
The use of public transportation needs to be increased by the general public so that the use and pollution caused by private vehicles decreases. How could this be achieved in cities where this would be a viable option? Using private transportation in such circumstances is a luxury and should be taxed as such. This money could be put towards better public transportation and keep the price down. Where good public transportation is not available, increased car pooling needs to become the norm. It seems that we turn to increased government spending for everything. If luxury is demanded, than those people need to accept the costs. The number of gas guzzling trucks and SUV's on the road shocks me.
@fizaiqbal2yrs2Y
Yes, and decrease the cost of the fare or maintain a standardized fair based on the region
