Here are your answers compared to this voter’s answers.
Social › Abortion
8>8 Personal answerPro-choice |
Social › LGBT Adoption Rights
8>8 Personal answerYes |
Healthcare › Healthcare Funding
8>8 Personal answerAs someone who has spent my career as a manager in health care, the government needs to do a full and thorough review of health care spending. In my experience there was far too much waste and poor decision making where significant funds were being spent. Many managers in the health care system have little/no training on how to be fiscally responsible, and there is far too little integrity among health care management. Far too much freedom for managers to go out and spend money without education about procurement and far to much unnecessary spending at the end of the fiscal year. |
Social › Gay Marriage
8>8 Personal answerYes |
the Economy › Taxes
8>8 Personal answerYes |
Healthcare › Dental Coverage
8>8 Personal answerYes |
the Economy › Minimum Wage
8>8 Personal answerYes |
Immigration › Deporting Criminal Immigrants
8>8 Personal answerYes |
Domestic Policy › Gun Control
8>8 Personal answerYes |
Healthcare › Healthcare Privatization
8>8 Personal answerI am satisfied with the current system |
Immigration › Immigration
8>8 Personal answerAs an immigrant, I feel that there is a need for more guidance after landing. We were literally processed and immediately cut adrift. Immigrants need to be integrated into Canadian culture so that they learn and respect our laws; there should be no honour killing within families, no bias towards women/gay/disabled etc. This could all be avoided if immigrants were properly vetted. I would also like to see a mentoring/buddy program where new immigrants would be paired with a Canadian family - not their own family. I would like to see immigration limited in cities where there is already high unemployment. I would also like to see immigrants dispersed better throughout Canada instead of congregating in their own cultural pockets - there are many areas of large cities where I feel intimidated and unwelcome due to density of immigrant communities. In some areas I can't even read the business signage in some communities - their is neither office language in use. All immigrants should have a basic understanding of at least one of our official languages. |
the Environment › Environmental Regulation
8>8 Personal answerYes |
Immigration › Muslim Immigrant Ban
8>8 Personal answerNo, banning immigrants based on their religion is unconstitutional |
Education › Student Loan Debt
8>8 Personal answerYes |
Foreign Policy › United Nations
8>8 Personal answerYes |
the Environment › Renewable Energy
8>8 Personal answerYes |
Elections › Criminal Politicians
8>8 Personal answerNo |
Domestic Policy › Drug Policy
8>8 Personal answerYes |
Housing › Foreign Owned Homes
8>8 Personal answerForeigner home purchases should bet vetted, as some circumstances may be legitimate. Foreigners shouldn't be allowed to exploit a basic life need as an investment, that's no different to hoarding groceries and reducing availability. So perhaps foreign purchases should not be allowed to realise any gain in equity over and above the interest/principal that they have paid when the home is disposed of. |
Housing › Affordable Housing
8>8 Personal answerIt would depend on the benefit to Canadians/Permanent Residents who need affordable housing. I don't believe that social housing in the current context provides homes that residents can be proud to live in or provide a means to escape impoverished neighbourhoods. I would prefer to see an alternate method of funding affordable housing such as a multi level program of built affordable housing, housing cost rebates/subsidies, property tax subsidies etc. I would like to see condo fees examined, some are unreasonably high, making an affordable condo unaffordable. |
Crime › Parole Hearings
8>8 Personal answerNo |
the Environment › Plastic Product Ban
8>8 Personal answerNo, increase consumer incentives to recycle these products instead |
Elections › Right of Foreigners to Vote
8>8 Personal answerYes, anyone who pays taxes should have the right to vote |
Housing › Home Buyer Incentives
8>8 Personal answerThe government should work with developers to build affordable housing and learn from other countries who have been successful in this area. |
Crime › Defunding the Police
8>8 Personal answerPolice should stay, but have regular psychological testing and training. New recruits should be stringently vetted for psychology and personality. |
Elections › Minimum Voting Age
8>8 Personal answerNo |
the Economy › Government Spending
8>8 Personal answerNo, focus on ending tax evasion instead |
Science › Nuclear Energy
8>8 Personal answerNo |
Education › Postsecondary Education
8>8 Personal answerFederal |
Transportation › Public Transportation
8>8 Personal answerNo, we should look at options to make current public transportation more affordable. Many public transit workers are compensated far too generously. It's not balanced to pay an uneducated worker more than an educated worker - our wage system is far too unbalanced. |
Crime › Criminal Voting Rights
8>8 Personal answerYes, but only after completing their sentences and parole/probation |
Transportation › Green Transportation
8>8 Personal answerYes |
Education › Charter Schools
8>8 Personal answerYes |
Transportation › Commercial Drones
8>8 Personal answerNo |
