I don't think that there will ever be a time when the human race will experience complete world peace.

 @9HVQ5LWfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

What kind of stupid question is this? Also let’s try to imagine a future where we aren’t senselessly killing innocent people for profit- how about we start there.

 @9HZC9Y8New Democraticfrom Nova Scotia  agreed…1yr1Y

I would love a world without war, but it just seems unlikely. The fact that there are specific war laws and regulations but are not really policed or maintained is ridiculous.

 @9HDXGCGfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

There is no need for war. Conflict and fighting is never the best way to solve a problem, but there are leaders of the world with different values and may think otherwise. So, no, humanity may never reach a point where there is no war, as there will almost always be a handful of people who think that force and violence is the best way to solve things.

 @9JYG2DVfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

no war is a natural instinct to humans, as much as its a horror on mankind it only ends when humanity does

 @9JZSGZCfrom British Columbia  commented…1yr1Y

Who said war is a natural instinct and we are not humane. Profit, greed , religion and fear fuel war. It’s not an instinct.

 @9K4JB7Nfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I think that war is inevitable as those who are greedy or want something may go through extreme effort to obtain it no matter how at peace the world is i dont think the possibility of there being no war is very real

 @9K9Z4NBfrom Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

For as long as humans have been roaming, there have been disputes and wars between tribes, territories, etc. With the increase in weapons of mass destruction and exponentially increasing army strength, the effects of war are being felt at a global scale compared to when it was simply bows and arrows and spears and knives. And with globalization and the invention of planes and oversea ships, tankers, submarines, it becomes so much easier to initiate cross continental war. Transportation continues to only get better and stronger and more funding is being put into the army and military services so no, I don't think the human race will ever reach a point where war is obsolete.

 @9K3PDCQfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I hope so, we need a time where we can resoulve our problems with words, not weapons.

 @9K6X5F4Liberalfrom Alberta  disagreed…1yr1Y

Human beings are subject to dangerous mentalities. We live in a deeply insecure world filled with those who need to cause harm to feel more secure. War will always be a part of our lives because there is no way to force certain people to adopt a pacifist mentality. It's overly optimistic and unrealistic.

 @9K5R4VQfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

no. we've been having war since the dawn of our species, practically. even in the animal kingdom they have what you could call wars. when two creatures want something, they will claw each other's eyes out to get it.

 @9KCLGR9from Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

yes, war is a heinous, imperial tactic that has no place in human relations and with sufficient empathy and communication can be avoided.

 @9K4M34Nfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

No, violence will always be around however I think we're able to drastically reduce the effects of war by reacting to disagreements in a calmer way

 @9KBHG66from Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

War will never go away as many tend to see violence as the only option and prefer it. We need to educate and create policies to ensure violence is not used

 @9J4PZFKfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

No, people will always disagree with one another and cause fights

 @9J7RKCTfrom Alberta  agreed…1yr1Y

From my perspective it seems like if someone is left wing they do not accept any right wing thoughts as they believe it is too old school and right wing resists a lot of change too.

 @9K3Q4DYfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

No, because there will always be someone who hates someone for something that they have, as well as history has repeated itself many times.

 @9K5R4VQfrom British Columbia  agreed…1yr1Y

we have tried for decades to get along, but no matter what we do it never works. history seems to always repeat itself.

HUMANITY ISNT DEFINED BY CORPORATE GREED. HUMANITY IS SEPARATE FROM THE SOCIETY IN WHICH THEY FUNCTION. HUMANITY CAN NOT BE EQUATED WITH WAR AND DESTRUCTION AS THOSE TRAITS ARE SIMPLY A PRODUCT OF THEIR ENVIRONMENT. A CHANGE IN SOCIETY WILL ALLOW HUMANS TO BE INHERENTLY GOOD. my answer is YES

 @9HHJ2CHfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

No, unfortunately religion will always be a thing, so war will always be a thing. People can’t seem to get along when different religions are involved.

 @9HDT45Dfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

 @9HDTKRMfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I think that the idea of "anti-war" seems great and all, but the idea that there is never going to be conflicts is an obserd thought. people will not always agree on topics and there are always going to be "bad people" to do bad things.

 @9TDGNNHfrom British Columbia  answered…7mos7MO

I think there will be a point when the war will stop but due to human nature, the wars will unfortunately rage on due to greed and jealously.

 @9T6TP9Ffrom British Columbia  answered…7mos7MO

I believe that the human race will never achieve an era of total freedom from conflict, however diplomatic and peaceful solutions over war is an attainable goal and should be pursued.

 @9T6LHXR from British Columbia  answered…7mos7MO

War is enacted to take control of resources by force when economic relations are not seen as good enough. In a world state where basic needs are met for everyone, the will to harm for one's gain tends to be frowned upon. Ensuring access to healthcare and contraception will stabilize the masses' needs and ensure we see war as a silly choice to make.

 @9T2QFLQfrom British Columbia  answered…7mos7MO

There will always be people who benefit from the suffering of others, but war for the sake of it or for things like money is inexcusible

 @9HQS74Kfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

No of course not. People are getting less informed, less tolerant, less disciplined and more self absorbed, self righteous and manipulative.

 @9HQDTFGfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I think Watchmen got it right: wars between humans can be obsolete but we would need an alien enemy to turn our attention.

 @9HPLX5Dfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, I do. I think it is possible. I am not sure if it is possible for the foreseeable future considering the divides between the human race, but I do think that with de-funding war acts it is possible. We will have to develop new strategies to not only prevent war in the future, but also find new ways to co-exist and work through national conflicts.

 @9HKTCTSfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

While the idea of a world without war is an aspirational goal, achieving a state where war is entirely obsolete is a complex and challenging prospect. The nature of international relations, geopolitical tensions, and historical patterns suggests that complete eradication of war might be unlikely in the foreseeable future.

Several factors contribute to the persistence of conflict, including political disagreements, resource competition, ethnic and religious tensions, and struggles for power. Achieving global disarmament and fostering cooperation among nations require addressing deep-seated issu…  Read more

Yes. We cannot eliminate conflict, but we can eliminate war. When we reach a point where we recognize that our shared humanity supersedes our differences and that nation states are an outdated concept, we will be near to eliminating war (or organized violence carried out on a large scale for political ends.)

 @9J6S628from British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I believe peace for the human race is something we should all try to achieve, however war is ingrained in our DNA and as long as there’s even just 2 people in this world, they will find a reason to kill the other. Maybe war can be abolished one day but that is beyond us by many lifetimes.

 @9K64MQMLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

no, as much as I would hope that the people who have the power to change how the world runs, I don't think so. I think the way they go about war is unnecessary.

I dearly hope that one day war is completely eliminated, but I highly doubt that it will be in my life time along with my future children. Since humans or peoples immediate solution to any situation is always violence, this is very unlikely to happen. Maybe someday we will learn to settle our differences and disagreements with words instead of nuclear power and bloodshed. Humans are complicated and history tends to repeat itself.
