The 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings caused several states and cities to pass strict gun control measures. In response, state lawmakers in gun friendly states in the South and West passed bills that would strengthen Stand Your Ground laws and allow weapons in most public places. In 2014, 21 states passed laws that expanded the rights of gun owners allowing them to possess firearms in churches, bars, schools and college campuses. The federal government has not passed any gun control measures since the 1994 Brady Bill and 42 states now allow the possession of assault rifles. In the U.S. two-thirds of all gun deaths are suicides and in 2010 there were 19,000 firearm suicides and 11,000 firearm homicides.

No, restrictions on purchasing do nothing but affect responsible gun owners, increase penalties for irresponsible use and ownership and maintain checkups on those licensed to ensure compliance.

No. Our current firearms laws make no sense and they should be completely worked over to be less restrictive. The current system does a good job for firearms safety but then goes and arbitrarily bans thousands of models. The people who designed these laws have no idea how firearms work outside of what they see in hollywood action movies.

Ban handguns, unless used in shooting competitions. 5 bullet magazine capacity for all firearms, and a complete ban on fully automatic weapons. Any modifications to be upheld by prison time

These other firearms are also generally limited to magazine size options by length of barrel, which is a great deterrence to shooting situations. If you can physically only have 5 rounds In a firearm that takes time to reload, you can't be close to anyone, to shoot from afar takes more… Read more

No, lessen restrictions for eligible citizens, yet increase restrictions for criminals and the mentally ill.

Non-lethal self defense tools such as pepper spray should be legalized to prevent an argument for the need of guns at all.
