If they have citizenship, they should serve their sentance as a Canadian in Canada.

only if their country is safe and they should do time in the country they commit a crime then further discussions will be nessicary

This question doesn't really make sense because why are we deporting only immigrants that commit a serious crime? Does this not tie into some sort of racism? If the crime committed involved murder or arson, then yes I suppose. If not, then what's the point of deporting them? If it's something like stealing then no. And if they are then they should be able to return to their country with no questions asked.
