Birthing and raising a child without maturity and readiness is like killing the child alive. So parents better have child when they feel ready in any circumstances.

In an anti-abortion world, women have less of a right to decide who gets to use their organs to live than dead bodies. And I don't agree with that.

 @9FDGX7Jfrom British Columbia  agreed…2yrs2Y

Having a child changes your life completely. If the baby is already developed quite a bit then abortion should not be allowed cause that's wrong but if you're early in pregnancy it is completely your own choice because it is your life that will be changed.

By law, we cannot force another human to donate blood, organs, bone marrow etc. to save the life of another even if it will cause minimal harm to them. Most of us agree that this is a good thing. Why does a fetus have a right to someone else's body when nobody else does? There are plenty of people who will die on a donor list, but we do not force anyone to donate organs to save them. Why should a fetus be any different?

I would never argue with someone who doesn’t believe in the right for a person to choose what they’d like to do with their own life. A clump of cells is NOT. Person. It’s technically a parasite.

"Children born to teenage mothers are at risk for more physical and cognitive problems than those born to adult mothers." says the National Library of Medicine.

I believe that women should have the power to make decisions regarding their health care. Accidents happen, assault happens and so does abuse, I would not want to have a child I wasn’t ready for, nor be tied in an abusive situation because of it. I wouldn’t want to bring a child into my home before I was ready to have one, no one should be forced to have kids.

 @B2KZMWYfrom British Columbia  agreed…3mos3MO

Pro-choice also means that you can choose whether or not to have an abortion. It is healthcare. It is not forced upon you. It is not murder. If a woman doesn’t have the finances or mental stability to bring a baby into this world, and they do not want the baby, then they should be allowed to get rid of it. If the woman was forced to give birth and raise a baby that she doesn’t want, then imagine what might happen to both of them in that situation. The mother will probably never have time to take care of herself, her whole life is uprooted, she’ll have to drain herself trying…  Read more

The egg is literally not a child yet, if it was gods plan and god made everything why did god make you get an abortion?

 @9ZPGS5HLiberalfrom British Columbia  agreed…5mos5MO

Unsafe abortions cause 23,000 deaths and 7 million health issues yearly. In countries where abortion is legal, maternal death rates are much lower. Access to abortion is essential for health and safety.

 @9SXKSGMNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  agreed…8mos8MO

It’s is also extremely unsafe if abortion is made illegal as women will still proceed with an abortion just in an illegal way which now is putting the mother as well as the child at harm. Our focus should also be on the human life that is alive and in front of us (the mother) not prioritize the unborn child who once is born no one will care anymore about their quality of life.

 @9LZGMJQfrom British Columbia  agreed…12mos12MO

if someone was pushed to do something they didn't want to. examples being sexual assault especially at a young age why should they have to not only live with the trauma of it but also the fact that they may not be able to help or support the child they would have to have.

 @9JY922Sfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

It’s murder of a child. Most abortions happen because of people who do not want to take responsibility for having random sex.

 @9JLK6J6from British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

Humans and dolphins are the only beings on the planet that breed for pleasure, the act itself is to the purpose of giving birth to a child. Having sex comes with a responsibility to a future life and as soon as you engage in the activity you have already made your choice.

 @9GR4LQGfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

People should be careful when it comes to having intercourse, and plan ahead if they are financially or mentally able to support a baby. Abortion should only be allowed for those who are raped.

 @9FMQTKSNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  agreed…2yrs2Y

Its the womans body, so she should get to decide what to do with it not someone else. If a baby wasnt in their plan, then she shouldnt have to go through with it. Maybe they want to pursue their career.

 @9FL85YSLiberalfrom British Columbia  agreed…2yrs2Y

No matter what anyone says, or what laws are put in place, there are going to be unintended pregnancies where the child could live a very poor quality of life. A woman must be able to decide what happens to her own body, and not the government.

 @9GPJVB9from British Columbia  agreed…1yr1Y

It is not a woman's burden to support another person, with the risk of great bodily harm to herself, without her consent. Ever. She is free to withdraw that consent at any time.

 @9FL2SWZfrom British Columbia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

A life is a life. You do not have the right to take someone's life away. It is not a medical right, as it is wrong. There are many other options available. There are lots of families waiting to adopt, and give the child a better life if you as a mother are unable to provide that for the kid.

 @9FFLT2Hfrom British Columbia  agreed…2yrs2Y

The child that was born to a parent who is not in position to take care of a child i.e teenage years or financially unstable the child would end up in a bad position especially if it was not on the parents own terms.

 @B2JG859from British Columbia  agreed…3mos3MO

Those the loudest about their medical autonomy during the COVID lockdown often do not see the irony in their pro-life stance. “Medical autonomy for me but not for thee”.

 @9FP55CKConservativefrom British Columbia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

If you got yourself pregnant, and you are capable of providing a life for it, you should have the baby.

 @9H2G3TKfrom British Columbia  agreed…1yr1Y

If the abortion is not allowed, they will be done at home, what can be really dangerous for the woman.

 @9GWF8MHfrom British Columbia  agreed…1yr1Y

Children are amazing and I think we need to give them the best environment to thrive if a mother and father don't feel they are going to be able to give that child their best then it should be their decision.

 @9GKBYG8from British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

If a fetus will become a viable life in 7-9 months, then the only non-arbitrary point of life is at conception; where it is a living and growing organism.

 @9GFQNYDfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

Life begins at inception, and every child deserves the right to life, even if they are special needs.

 @9FWGQYBfrom British Columbia  agreed…2yrs2Y

Someone may get pregnant by accident or something happened without their consent and they may not be in the position to raise a child let alone if it is a child who is going to give birth, especially if they are in poverty and the child may not make it

 @9FWG2SWNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  agreed…2yrs2Y

According the the World Health Organization, 25 million women worldwide are involved in unsafe abortions. In the U.S. Death during childbirth increased by 30% from 2020 to 2021, meanwhile the U.S. has seen the highest number of abortion restrictions enacted in a single year.

 @9GLSHPRfrom British Columbia  agreed…1yr1Y

that if someone gets raped and ends up getting pregant they should have the right to get rid of it and if someone is young and doesn't have money they should be aloud to get ride of it
