Depends on the context, if they were being forced into it (I.E: Blackmailed, "brainwashed", etc) then yes. But if they show no remorse at all. Let them rot. Heck maybe bring back the death penalty and bring back the guillotine which surprisingly is actually very humane as it kills the person instantly.

No, unless the murderer was acting as self defense in an abusive home or situation and can prove the police didn't provide help for their safety when asked.

I suggest case by case, but mainly focus on the rehabilitation, cleanliness and family structure for prisoners (punish prisoners with less family time, reward prisoners with much more family time.)

Only if the way they did it wasn't heinous and if they showed they were no longer a threat to society and if it was justifiable.

Yes, if they are provided with rehabilitation programs and pass a psychological evaluation showing they are no longer a threat to society
