YES - I think the Federal government should pay the full fee of Bachelor Degree program and 50% for Master's program (PHD is full responsibility of student). But all recipients must work 5 consecutive years within Canada or for a Canadian owned company; if they choose not to, then the full cost of university will have to be repaid within 5 - 8 years.

 @B4P4L8SConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4 days4D

do not add a cap to international students who want to study full-time in Canada but cap tuition costs for Canadian citizens attending full-time post secondary studies.

 @B4MYMH9from Ontario  answered…6 days6D

Yes, tuition rates are way too high. Students need an education to get a good job but work the rest of their lives to pay off the debt. Professors make WAY beyond what they need at the expense of the students.

 @B4KWQY3from Ontario  answered…1wk1W

I’m good with the cost but the professors should not be able to strike if a student has to pay to be there.

 @B3DM86Qfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

Decrease inflation and overspending so our dollar is stronger. Make tuition relative to the schooling provided and the nature of the degree.

 @B36H52Dfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

tuition rates shouldn't receive cap but the price should reflect the quality and information of the university program

 @B2YX78Gfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

I believe that the government should for most courses cap the intuition rate. If the course is serious it might need more money, but access to knowledge shouldn't be so high.

 @B2L42TMfrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

Public universities should only charge admission administrative fees but private universities can charge whatever the market is willing to pay

 @B2GG52Pfrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

No, do not cap, however, reward completion of programs and tuition forgiveness for students who within 4 years of a drop out have become productive members of society.

 @B2DNVXQfrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

Education is a provincial responsibility. I believe that the provinces should cap tuition or make university free.

 @B3HP7ZKfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

No but they should reflect the department you're in and the funding that goes back into your own education

 @9F8D328 from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9F5FC8S from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Aspects of university education should be free to eliminate financial barrier and subsequent financial burden. Alleviated costs will increase accessibility, improve academic performance, produce stronger graduate outcomes and improve our society/economy. Associated costs with university education should fall on the student, for example textbooks, but these should be made available at a more cost-effective rate. We should be removing all funding for immigration initiatives/foreign aid and investing in our students.

 @9DJYYZ3from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but the government should also increase funding for universities specifically in the areas of undergraduate education and research funding.

 @B48TZ9WConservativefrom Ontario  answered…3wks3W

No, tuition should be dependant on what the university wants to pay compared to other universities and their respective ranks in education.

 @B43387Rfrom Ontario  answered…4wks4W

They should be lowered and capped for persons 18-35 born in Canada, and for people who have been educated and employed in the country for 6 years combined. International students should have no cap.

 @B27HTNXGreenfrom Ontario  answered…4mos4MO

Canadians should have access to free Canadian education while foreign students and immigrants should have raised tuition costs.

 @9ZYKJMRfrom Ontario  answered…5mos5MO

Tuition rates should be caped on careers that provide an average annual income of 80, 000 dollars and below.

 @9RTLWCPIndependentfrom Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

Yes, for first year students, and have a mix of private and public education. Give people more choice

 @9QZCYDNfrom Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

I think that the government should provide funding for education like many places in Europe, but only part of it. They should also make sure universities aren't overcharging anyone

 @9K6M454from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

nobody is gonna spend 500$ just to research sociology 💀, considering this case, this country isn't gonna to care because of it's dumb "by the book" plans of this failing minister, how redundant.

 @9JCS9GBConservativefrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only to Canadian born citizens. And limit number of foreign students so universities do not just take foreign students for the money

 @8M9VG8NNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Higher education needs to be made more affordable to all not just those with the money to pay the outlandish expenses

 @8TVD7ZTfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes and the government should provide free university education. The idea that people need to go hundreds of thousands of dollars into debt is an incredibly insane prospect.

 @8TPYGYVfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

the chance for an individual to pursue a higher level of education should be made available to everyone, regardless of their finances.

 @8TMYTCVfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Adequate funding of the university system is required. Rather than subsidizing at an artifically low rate that does not provide a good product.

 @8TM999Nfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TJQFVHLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only cap tuition to each student's first year rate, in addition to being allowed to increase periodically for inflation

 @8THKTYJLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

post secondary education should be free for all, provided students grades are within the norm. Should the student fail their course, they should then be responsible for the next term/year tuition. Education is a right, but it also is not a free ride. After graduating the student should then repay 1/3 of their education costs over 5 year period and remain in Canada for 5 years to expand Canada's economy. Indiginous people should be exempt from repaying.

 @8THC26Cfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and the government should provide free university education only if the student successfully completes their degree

 @8T9YSLNfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and stop making us pay for refugees education and universities especially the ones that don’t work

 @8T99ZQLConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No, however the federal and provincial governments should also stop subsidizing universities, this is a perverse incentive for universities to inflate their costs thus justifying the higher rates.

 @8T8VR7Ffrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8T8PGV9from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

tuition rates are supply and demand, If we geared people towards 2 year collage degrees than we wouldnt have this problem

 @8T89CCDPeople’sfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8T452LXfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

post second education should be free. The fact these universities can raise the rates as much as they want prove they have failed in their primary goal.

 @8T3NDKXfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Education should be free. People need to learn. If people don't have enough money to pay for their schooling then they cant get a job. If they don't get a job it will be harder to keep the economy flowing.

 @8SZ4XV2from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, I suggest that we make University and Colleges acceptance rates lower as well, resulting to qualified people getting in while not increasing the costs for tuitions. I will also propose an increase on tuition costs for International Students.

 @8SVHJYFfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8ST56WQfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Tuition rates are now coasting more than ever even with respect to cost of living. The problem is that we force everyone into university which lets the universities charge more

 @8SRW9KHfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8SL8JM4from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

The government should control how universities use their money before putting a cap on tuition rates.

 @8SHS6YWfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

the cost of univiersity is just supply and demand, if we offered more competitive alternatives to univercity than we wouldn't have such high costs

 @8S73DY8from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

With this growing economy we need to invest in personal finance, and alternative forms of education pathways, the university model is growing more and more outdated with academia being less and less were most tech research is being produced

 @8S3NTLNfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Universities are being more and more out dated, we should focus on alternative education strategies and BA equivalencies, if you can learn 90% of a university degree online for free then their is something wrong with the system

 @BpsharpeConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Free post-secondary education funded by public tax dollars should follow student enrolment to both public or private institutions. This would create competition between private and public institutions, leading to higher learning standards. Program offerings, or at least recommendations, should be tailored to current or perceived future job market conditions to prevent high numbers of low demand skilled workers

 @8RQCBY6from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Proportionate to income, or good amount of decent financial assistance for lowest income.

 @8RP4MNFfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

the reason why school is so expensive is supply and demand, giving people more alternatives to Uni will be best for everyone, and we already spend alot on the hard sciences

 @firozsasifrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

It should be universal free and be made cost-effective via virtual ecosystems and platforms.

 @8R5BJ76from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and the government should increase tax rates on International Students to provide free education for Canadian Citizens.

 @8R4BV9Nfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

It should be capped so that it is affordable for people but not so low so that the people who run a university are underpayed

 @8R2H6WNfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8QZTFS3from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes university costs more now with respect to the cost of living than ever before, even with the subisidy. We should also gear people towards the trades

 @8QYBMZXfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I don't think that putting on a cap for tuition is possible. the reason why is because you can't just make something cheaper for what it's worth. Meaning you can't make people sell their "product" for less than what it costs them to provide it.

 @8QXJPJQfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Universities shouldn't be controlled by the government but shouldn't be crazily high that students can't afford it.

 @8QP7693from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8QG78B3from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8Q8WM97from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and I think maybe the government should provide free university education. I'm not as educated on this topic as I'd like to be to make a good stance on this, but I do know that based on today's minimum wage, it's often incredibly hard to pay for tuition, student loans and other costs. So having cheaper or free university educations would be highly beneficial.

 @EmmaTLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PKBMG3from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Federal funding and grants should be tied to having tuition be affordable; pricing still remains their choice

 @8P9CY8Qfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8P6KG5JPeople’sfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

They need us to work in professional fields for the future of the country more than we need it for ourselves so why would we pay them to work for them. Education should be free.

 @8P3L3VTfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

University costs should reflect what is necessary to run the courses. Schooling should be non-profit.

 @8NZZM2Bfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8NKXG37from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y
