I believe that there should more privatized healthcare in order to avoid overcrowding and hopefully allow for faster medical attention, however I also believe that there should be more government funding towards public healthcare in order to ensure that everyone is able to access some form of healthcare if needed, as is a human right.

 @B4NWTNKfrom Alberta  answered…1 day1D

Have government funding for important things, life saving surgery's, births, children's healthcare, things like that, but otherwise I think that if you are willing to pay for certain things right away you should be given the chance to do that so you can fix a problem of yours faster. I don't believe that privatized healthcare is a terrible idea, but I do believe it needs to be balanced with some public support.

 @B4LPBQRfrom Alberta  answered…5 days5D

Yes, for better access to medical care, but the government should subsidize the cost between private and government run facilities.

 @B4DMP4Zfrom Alberta  answered…2wks2W

Less, but let there be someplace for these people just starting out to add things to their portfolio

 @B4BGK3Hfrom Alberta  answered…2wks2W

Have private healthcare and public health care, if those who don’t want to wait for procedures are willing to pay for them it creates less of a stress on the system. Wait lines in public domains will be shorter.

 @B4B5JGQfrom Alberta  answered…2wks2W

More but allow better an fairer insurance coverage and allow better payment options for those without insurance

 @B49GT54from Alberta  answered…3wks3W

More, but still have a majority in public healthcare so people can still get the health care they need

 @B48Y4SWfrom Alberta  answered…3wks3W

Allow more privatization of MRI, UT, CT Scan. Allow Private surgical units withe caveat they can only charge double the cost it would incur to a public surgery. For every 2 private surgeries they perform, they must do 1 from the public list

 @B47MMKVfrom Alberta  answered…3wks3W

Private services should be allowed to a degree, but currently it seems any private services are only accessible to the wealthy

 @B47FML7from Alberta  answered…3wks3W

More private options but use public money to fund private health care options. Less bureaucracy spending the money.

 @B462JK6from Alberta  answered…3wks3W

More privatization of simple dr services, however capping crazy price hikes and standards at private practices

 @B45YJHPNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…3wks3W

Some private healthcare is ok but public healthcare needs to be priority and funded appropriately so that everyone has access to healthcare

 @B45SMCVfrom Alberta  answered…3wks3W

We need to see fewer hospital administrators, more medical professionals and a better more transparent management of the public health care system

 @B45SB5Xfrom Alberta  answered…3wks3W

There should be the standard government healthcare system but also private for people who can afford it, less stress on the the system.

 @B42F5YSfrom Alberta  answered…4wks4W

More, but run by the government so quality of care is the same for both. People who can afford to pay will shorten the wait for people who can not afford to pay.

 @B3XPH7TConservativefrom Alberta  answered…1mo1MO

There needs to be better oversight of public dollars being spent in healthcare so what is spent is more effective

 @B3MZPLWfrom Alberta  answered…1mo1MO

More but have privatization healthcare as an alternative option for individuals who would prefer that kind of healthcare.

 @B2TS86Rfrom Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

we should have a combination have some private for those who want it and some for those who want public but obviously offer public cause people might find it hard to afford

 @B2LW7QGfrom Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

More should be available for choice of private for those who can afford it, while not wasting our already high taxes elsewhere & to other countries & instead put our taxes back to us towards improving our current public healthcare system.

 @B2K8W4Dfrom Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

More, but ensure compliance with consumer protections standards (put a cap), and incentivize upstream prevention program development

 @B286YWZfrom Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

The same but canada need to take a stronger look at health care spending and make efficeincy changes

 @9ZBMLRLfrom Alberta  answered…5mos5MO

Keep the current public healthcare system and add a separate private healthcare system like several European countries have

 @9XCDCNZfrom Alberta  answered…6mos6MO

I think that there should be a balance between the both(private and public) and let our citizens choose for which one they need for specific things

 @9W4D444from Alberta  answered…6mos6MO

I believe that there should be more privatized healthcare in order to avoid overcrowding and hopefully allow for faster medical attention, however I also believe that there should be more government funding towards public healthcare in order to ensure that everyone is able to access some form of healthcare if needed, as is a human right.

 @9VBQG68from Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

The government system which intergrets "free healthcare" is honestly a unjust and personally the government is a awful system

 @9V9BQ4Cfrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

I don't like either option. If privatized than he company has to much say or control. If the government runs health care than once again the people are at the mercy of what the government says so either way the people who need the help or care are stuck in the middle.

 @9V4JT2Cfrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

More but should change lots of other things. Should be more similar to NZ and Australia systems. Should also have healthcare licenses for the country not by province and the provinces should be more similar it should have more federal oversight

 @9TYMS9Bfrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

I am satisfied with current spending, but having a way for citizens to pay for a faster and sooner appointment

 @9TQYCK4from Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

Add a separate privatized healthcare system to remove some of the pressure on the public healthcare system

 @9TGC77Mfrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

right now there are more benefits to having privatized health care ( ex. Dino care, helps their employment more and has a stable system set, which is more beneficial for both the puplic and the members of emplyment, vs Alberta Health care, cares less about the pateints).

 @9TGBW8CConservativefrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

There should be a balance between private and public healthcare. The health care system should give more autonomy to its doctors.

 @9T7XY37from Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

Less but not too too much, enough that it gives the Canadian popullace a wider and broader range of options.

 @9RZPX67from Alberta  answered…8mos8MO

more, let people pay for their emergencies and deal with gross government backlog on healthcare to citizens

 @9Q6NXYQfrom Alberta  answered…10mos10MO

More privatization for those who can afford it but do not remove public healthcare and the government should provide more funding to public healthcare

 @9F5KMPVfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase government funding. Offer free medical school to studious and passionate students to get more doctors. Make health care a spending priority. Every Canadian deserves world class healthcare regardless of their income.

 @9DFLF8Hfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @8VSSTYWfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Keep both public and private for those who can afford it. More gov funding toward current healthcare. Nurse here- it’s A W F U L and it can’t afford to get worse

 @8SYDDSXfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

There should be a two tier system, this would allow those who wish to pay more the opportunity for private treatment while maintaining public health for those who can't afford private. This would also significantly reduce the wait times in hospitals across the country.

 @B2W7K8Yfrom Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

I think there should be a balance, so people who can afford to pay and don't want to wait on our health care system. To help with the overflow on our free Healthcare system, cause I have alot of health issues but can't afford it. Our Healthcare system isn't working .

 @B2Q4LN5Liberalfrom Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

A mix between private and public I think their should be both for people who want a private and some for people who cannot afford it

 @B2MXWGHfrom Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

If the purpose of privatized hospitals are to make the medical attention then there should be more of them but at the same time, there should still be public hospitals to keep medical attention available for everyone but with the cost of time instead of money.

 @B2HHSTVfrom Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

We should study countries where the costs are lower and the outcomes are better. Maybe a mixture would work, with the right balance.

 @B2GW955from Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

the system we have now is good in the fact that anyone can have healthcare. but it is bad in the stance that the help is lacklustre so I think a mix of private and public is needed.

 @9SXPWFVfrom Alberta  answered…8mos8MO

If big companies want to build another hospital and charge a reasonable amount for a better experience than whom I to complain

 @9STPBP6from Alberta  answered…8mos8MO

Public for those that it is necessary and privitization should be available for those that can afford comfortably

 @9SS5TSWfrom Alberta  answered…8mos8MO

There should be government funding with the option of going a private route, I.e if you have the money to spend on better health care then you should be able to go that route.

 @9LV36HXfrom Alberta  answered…12mos12MO

More to increase compatible prices so it is more accessible yet maintain current government facilities as a precautionary measure

 @9L8R794from Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

More, and if the public health care system doesn’t help in time they are defaulted to the private system at the governments expense.

 @9JWW84Qfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Needs to be a blended use of both private and pubic healthcare. People who want to pay can, and that will free up space for those needing public health care.

 @9JQK37WConservativefrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

there should be privatization of somesort, but public healthcare should be the priority. Privatization for people who don't want loing wait times, and public for affordable healthcare.

 @9JQ9XHCfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

there should be the same amount of public, but allow there to be privately owned hospitals so that the people that can afford to go to them this will then help clear up public healthcare and allow people that cant afford the private to get in quicker.

 @9JM8LNCfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I think there needs to a balance between free healthcare as well as privatization so that there are options available for everyone. Those who have the means to pay for out of pocket and would lean on private options would free up valuable space for those who are more in need of free/less costly services.

 @9J75VFNfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

There should be two tier systems, options to choose between public and private health care, government however should maintain the spending needed to protect public healthcare in Canada

 @9HYT9DJfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

More Nurses, Less managers, its funny how nurses solve most problems, the main issue with health care is the overhead of running the system. There is a simpler way.

 @9HX764Pfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

More, but don't take away from public healthcare. Only allow privatization to decrease wait times for people who can afford treatment.

 @9H6GJSNfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

As long as it doesn't drastically increase the cost of seeing a doctor or receiving your healthcare needs.

 @9GMSV2Ffrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I support a mix of both public and private healthcare services. However we need the healthcare services to cover not just physical, but also mental, dental, eye care etc

 @9G6BWXGConservativefrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

There should be the choice to choose which you want but there should only a certain amount of places open and workers aloud to work there to protect hospitals and emergency rooms

 @9FPG8CXfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

More, BUT it must be paid by the government! In other words, it is is privately delivered but the one that pays for it is the government and no "out of pocket" cost. The reason for this is the recent shortages of doctors/nurses and the somewhat bloated bureaucracy of the health services.

 @9FNQ3LSLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9FJBJTJfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

We should try and move those who are able to private and put more tax dollars into public

 @9FDHSDNfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Majority should be public. Some private hospitals might be good to decrease the time.

 @9FC8PV5from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

more, as this helps others that needs immediate medical attention and makes it easier to access by paying.

 @9FB68RGfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9F9THK3from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

I think they should also implement a non-government funded hospital for easier access as our free healthcare can take some time, I think that this can help a lot of people who need immediate attention without having to wait. But, also keep our free healthcare.

 @9F8XK9Xfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

More privatization of specialized services, and less privatization of general healthcare, but also more government-funded programs provided to help those who require more specialized healthcare services, and more government funding provided to Generalized healthcare.

 @8TWDQR3from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @B37ZK3Kfrom Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

There should be a basic government healthcare you can opt into as well as the private option for more expensive niche surgery’s/treatments

 @B2Y4YCBConservativefrom Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

More too get quicker care because our doctors will be paid more to actually stay and not move to the states.

 @9CBTBW3from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

The choice should exist to either accept wait times in the current system or pay more for expedited services.

 @9BX983Sfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @99PNYRMfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Less, but allocation of funding needs to be overhauled. There needs to be more transparency with health care budgets and funding.

 @96G9W5Hfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

less privatization, yet, people who use the healthcare should NEED it and actually have problems, instead of abusing the healthcare.

 @95P8SXPfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

They should be able to choose if they want to be privatized or not, I do not think it should be decided.

 @95NTYJMfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

More, for those who can afford to go that route and have the publicly funded services available to those who can not afford privatized services.

We have out grown our current system, however there needs to be a transition, it will be those with less education, low economic status etc that are the ones that fall through the cracks with privatization. Single parents, children etc. We currently have no medical staff to continue what we are currently doing so I don't believe privatization will provide the best care for Canadians.

 @946J5FZfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8ZR4S7LLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

There should be a privitization of certain ascpects of the healthcare system, along with increased funding, support, and oversight from the government.

 @8ZQCPTJfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

More, to allow individuals faster service, there should always be the option of free healthcare.

 @8ZHJ8LXfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8Z9FHJ4New Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

we need to be watching for wasteful spending and create more efficiencies where possible

 @8YZ9FCSfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

There should be a hybrid system in place. Those that have the money should be able to go private hospitals and receive the care they are looking for, while still providing the general public the right to universal healthcare.

 @8YWNWC3from Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Complete overhaul required. Review world healthcare models and pick least cost most benefit model. With 1/2 medical and 1/2 business people review..

 @8YWG77Rfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

The top CEOs and directors should not be making what they make. And the funds they save should go into the healthcare system.

 @8YW3SWZfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8YCHQDPfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

The Canadian health care system suffers from over regulation rather than lack of funds. The Canadian health care system could be improved through higher privatization to simply avoid government red tape however simply giving the management more ability to make decisions, and spend properly, the system would be greatly benefited.
