An increase in healthcare is crucial, people wait hours upon hours in the waiting room to be seen, nobody in this world will be healthy forever, healthcare should be the top priority, and funding is beneficial.

 @9FYLLGXfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

The reason people have to wait hours is due to the fact that healthcare is publicly funded. When the government steps in to run an industry it typically does worse than if ran by the private sector (look at Venezuela). Changing the healthcare system to be private instead of public will result in the private hospitals striving to make theirs the best one as they are not the only option, when the government runs healthcare, they can slack as they know people do not really have another choice.

We need to reduce the wage of doctors, increase the wage of nurses. In many countries a nurse can do more that what the nurses can do in this country. Patients don’t need to always be examined by a doctor and nurses should be going to university level of education to increase the work load for the higher pay.

The reduction of the wage of doctors can also be used to hire more doctors. We can have increased funding to a limit but that funding needs to be used logically.

Which is why if you want less waiting a private sector should be created and a percentage of this private sector should help the local public sector to help develop the public hospitals

Healthcare should be a top priority. Last time I went to the hospital I had to wait 10 hours to go see a doctor. I was pretty angry that I was sitting for so long while I was sick. We need more doctors because there are only 1 or 2 working every time I go to the hospital.

I totally agree, healthcare might be the most important peice of our economy and it needs the greatest amount of funding that we can possibly give it.

 @9GLMYGKfrom British Columbia  agreed…1yr1Y

Healthcare is one of the most important aspects of the economy, bills sometimes add up on citizen as well as medication prices. These should be kept affordable for the well being of all the citizens of Canada.

Context: went to the emergency room feeling Ill. I had pneumonia but only found that out after being in pain in the waiting area for 8.5 hours…

 @9FBHM97from Ontario  agreed…2yrs2Y

Increase in healthcare funding will lead to a stronger and healthier healthcare professionals, which in turn will lead to better health care being provided to individuals.

 @9F84N36from Ontario  agreed…2yrs2Y

If we lowered taxes and interest rates in other places like the environment and large corporations we can put more funding to healthcare

 @9FNB6QFfrom Ontario  agreed…2yrs2Y

increasing healthcare funding is crucial to improve access, reduce wait times, invest in preventive care, address the aging population, and respond effectively to health emergencies.

 @B3ZWZR2from Ontario  agreed…3wks3W

Our healthcare system needs more funding. There is too much strain and stress on nurses and doctors, funding would allow us to hire more or encourage more people to get in the medical field.

The world health organization has reduced polio cases by 99% since its inception saving millions from paralysis and death. Measles vaccination has also averted approximately 93.7 million deaths which highlights the profound impact of sustained funding on child mortality rates.

Canadians have a life expectancy of 82 years which is higher than the OECD average and the economic impact of healthcare spending is significant. In 2024 Canada spent $372 billion or approximately $9054 per Canadian accounting for 12.4% of the nations GDP.

america pays 30k just to have a kid alone, better to pay taxes for public healthcare, reduces burden of paying a large amount of money out of pocket

 @9ZS8S4RIndependent from Ontario  agreed…4mos4MO

Wait times are already to high, and healthcare areas are understaffed, lowering the budget for healthcare industries would just make those problems worse

 @9RBT8K3from New Brunswick  agreed…9mos9MO

It is a pillar of Canada. Id like it to remain that way - clearly there has been a major breakdown in healthcare services within the past 5 years. I don't necessarily believe more money will absolve us of these issues, and the real culprit is low capacity doctoral programs, underpaid nurses, PA's etc.

 @9PZKHL3from Ontario  agreed…9mos9MO

Not enough Doctors to currently handle the case load of patients in need. Especially specialized needs.

Many people have family members they care for like their older parents, why should someone who has no obligation to care for someone have to pay their healthcare bills?

 @9KZKD43from Missouri  disagreed…1yr1Y

I fully agree, healthcare might be one of the most important pieces of our economy and it needs the greatest amount of funding that we can possibly give it.

 @9KSJFV9from Ontario  agreed…1yr1Y

More than 78% is funded through tax payers money and the government only pays 22%. Of the government increased their side of funding we could have better healthcare situation.

 @9JG5JCNdisagreed…1yr1Y

If the government increase spending in healthcare, they budget for infrastructure and others society needs will be lowered, the health system is currently doing well and should not increase the spending

 @9GW36NWGreenfrom British Columbia  agreed…1yr1Y

If Healthcare was privately owned some citizens couldn't pay and deny them of treatment. Healthcare should be cheap if not free.

 @9FMR37XLiberalfrom British Columbia  agreed…2yrs2Y

People should agree because clinics have a long wait time and it does not heklpthe two tier private system.

 @9FKJ4GDNew Democraticfrom Ontario  agreed…2yrs2Y

50% of Canadians had to wait two hours or more to be seen in an emergency room. This can be the result of the over usage of the emergency services.

 @9FFFSF2from Ontario  agreed…2yrs2Y

Wait time, one of the most pressing healthcare issues, will decrease significantly. People shouldn't wait more than 2 hours in an emergency department. They should be free to avail of services from private healthcare providers or facilities.

Imagine being in a low-income scenario, and you fall gravely ill, but you can’t afford the treatment. Imagine all the lives having Healthcare Funding would save.
