Welfare should not be a function of government. It's disgusting and perverted to subsume this role from private people and to remove a community's ability to discriminate against who and what they support

Streamline the welfare system by combining all programs, except those related to pensions & old age security into a Guaranteed Basic Income.

Alot of people wouldn't be on welfare if there were jobs to be had at a decent wage. The job listings are a rouse, my children can't even get a job at mcdonalds and other similar chain places because the jobs are going to immigrants. Don't bring in immigrants to fill low paying jobs. Bring in immigrants to fill positions for healthcare etc. Lower the minimum wage for these places that are typically filled by high school students. lower the restriction of current welfare benefits and increase the amount for elderly and handicapped, those going through mental distress. where has the common sense gone?

Provide benefits for Canadian citizens. Do not provide benefits for non citizens. Plan a way to reduce poverty and welfare in Canada through improving the economy, taxing the rich and large corporations, and increasing jobs that more people can do.

Neither fewer nor more, but different allocations, brackets, and regulations. Prevent abuse of the system.

More - deny benefits to immigrants, give that money instead to actual citizens, supplement (not replace) income

It is absolutely disgusting. The minimal benefit you get from ow. I paid into this all my life only to get hurt and have to go on ow. No wonder we have so many homeless people on drugs. I totally understand now
