In 2010 the Conservative government introduced a crime bill which would kill the so-called faint hope clause that allows some people serving life sentences to apply for parole after 15 years (instead of the usual 25 common for first-degree murder and other life sentence convictions). Opponents of the crime bill argue that extended prison sentences are cruel and will cost the government tens of millions of dollars per year.Proponents argue that 15 years is too short of a prison term for people serving life sentences.

depending on the circumstance and reasoning for committing this crime. evaluations and counseling should also be mandatory
Every incarcerated individual should be respected and given opportunities to rehabilitate and integrate themselves into society through career learning programs provided by taxation.
it depends on the situation with the murder. why did they kill this person and what were the circumstances the victim endured

Those who have committed the sin of murder that was not an act to protect our country or themselves (Self Defense) should not be brought back into society. There are many cases where criminals who are released commit the same crime again and then are arrested again or go on the run.
Prisons should be abolished and restorative justice should take its place
Maybe,but give them a chance with a actual rehabilitation program.
The entire carceral system needs to be dismantled and replaced with restorative, rehabilitation focused methods of addressing criminality.
Yes and abolish the prison system.
@8TKFPRH4yrs4Y
Yes, and we should be working towards the abolition of prisons and carceral infrastructures by heavily investing in rehabilitation programs, models of restorative justice and community accountability, social services, and psychiatric health care.
@8T3GK5W4yrs4Y
Only in special circumstances such as gypsy rose (parole for those who killed someone out of self defense such as rape, kidnap, getting jumped, torture etc)
@8RLLTHJ4yrs4Y

@8QW5GLH4yrs4Y

Yes, but only for those who who commit first degree murder within self défense.
