In 2010 the Conservative government introduced a crime bill which would kill the so-called faint hope clause that allows some people serving life sentences to apply for parole after 15 years (instead of the usual 25 common for first-degree murder and other life sentence convictions). Opponents of the crime bill argue that extended prison sentences are cruel and will cost the government tens of millions of dollars per year.Proponents argue that 15 years is too short of a prison term for people serving life sentences.

Yes, and we should provide more rehabilitation programs prisoners and a psychological evaluation that shows they are no longer a threat to society

Yes in certain cases for example, if someone is assaulted or someone who they loved passes and they take revenge on the person I think they deserve parole
@95YNSKT3yrs3Y
I feel it should depend on why the murderd the person.
@93BWD6T3yrs3Y
If they are older than 65
@8XGL5GB3yrs3Y
It depends on the reasoning and motive behind the murder
@8VTRJNHConservative4yrs4Y
Yes but if they can not be rehabilitated they have to wait another 15 years
@8VR7XWL4yrs4Y
If the murder was for protection yes. If murder for no reason no. Stay in your cell
@8SLXKS84yrs4Y
I feel like it should really be based on the conditions of the murder as I feel those really matter in the sense of whether someone would be likely to do something like that again.

No they should not be able to leave or get probation but they do their time
I think it should be a rehabilitation model. Finland has the best prison system. It’s unorthodox, but they have the lowest re-incarceration rate. In the end rehabilitation cost most initially, but saves more tax payer dollars with less re-incarceration. Pay it forward to do it right the first time.

It depends on the situation if it was done to protect someone else or themselves, they should get psychological treatment. If it was done just because, they should be sent straight to prison.
