Canadian aid spending should prioritize security with regard to health and safety and fostering our global economy and be regulated so that it is not corporations who profit the most off of it. We should also not fund countries whose governments are committing human rights violations or that are destabilizing or exploiting other poorer countries.
@9YNQFHTNew Democratic5mos5MO
Decrease for countries who harbor/promote terrorism, commit human rights violations. Spending should be more transparent
@9RDR257New Democratic9mos9MO
I believe that while we should still provide humanitarian support, the gov. should focus on Canadian issues, like the lack of clean water for native communities
@9FDNLRLNew Democratic2yrs2Y
Decrease, we have people struggling in our own country
@95ZMVJTNew Democratic3yrs3Y
Decrease until we fix our own problems with lack of funding for vulnerable Canadians: indigenous, disabled and poorer communities need that funding here first
@95HS9GSNew Democratic3yrs3Y
If the country requests or accepts it
@93CYDY7New Democratic3yrs3Y
Decrease, but direct this money towards Indigenous communities.
@93C3C3JNew Democratic3yrs3Y
Decrease, we should make sure that everyone has access to adequate resources in Canada first
@938N3XJNew Democratic3yrs3Y
Don’t have enough knowledge on the matter to appropriately answer
@937ZZFJNew Democratic3yrs3Y
Canada needs to focus on its own impoverished people and work on getting suitable living conditions to indigenous communities. But should still contribute toward foreign aid in some respect
@937ZYZYNew Democratic3yrs3Y
Spend only or primarily on countries with no human rights violations
@92VDBJ5New Democratic3yrs3Y
i do not have the relevent information.
@8ZY2W7RNew Democratic3yrs3Y
I believe that we need to focus more on our own people. Start by giving everyone safe drinking water and adequate housing.
@8ZKVGVBNew Democratic3yrs3Y
As long as they support the current party’s ideology, then we can support them in foreign aid
@8YSXSP8New Democratic3yrs3Y
I am satisfied with the current amount of spending until our country is capable of supporting itself sufficiently, than we should increase to aid the places in need of help.
@8YK28XXNew Democratic3yrs3Y
Change the way foreign aid is given to countries. Does it do more harm than good?
@8YJDKP6New Democratic3yrs3Y
Decrease until we fix the problems in Canada
@8YCQ2VPNew Democratic3yrs3Y
Aid should be directed straight to the peoples of struggling counties by trusted organizations to avoid corrupt officials and unethical distribution of aid.
@8Y9FNXLNew Democratic3yrs3Y
we would balance, neither increase nor decrease
@8Y5MG29New Democratic3yrs3Y
yes, depending on circumstances
@8WBL4MLNew Democratic3yrs3Y
I'd rather see the money going to those in need within our own country
@8VRZPJVNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Decrease, but only remove funding from countries with proven human rights violations (i.e. Saudi Arabia, etc.)
@8VD4SPFNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Aid in helping build up communities and giving money back to the countries that Canada has directly negatively affected. Do not give any more money or aid into foreign military.
@8V9DCT5New Democratic4yrs4Y
Keep it the same, but redistribute the funds to the countries that need it the most.
@8V5QXMRNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Increase or maintain, but only to countries suffering from major disasters with a relatively good human rights records within a specific recent period at least.
@8V5QQBQNew Democratic4yrs4Y
More thought and care ahould go into where the money is going and whom it is helping.
@8V54RH9New Democratic4yrs4Y
should be eliminated. Serve Canadians first who need additional help.
@8V4ZMNDNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Why do we have so much homelessness. Then all the of those new people move here. They get homes and jobs. While our citizens have less.
@8V3G93TNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Only allow foreign aid spending to countries experiencing disasters or crises
@8TZT5W3New Democratic4yrs4Y
Foreign aid spending should remain as-is for the present time until we drastically reduce our national debt. It should also be denied to countries that harbour and promote extremists.
@8TZ33FZNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Make sure the systems in place are changed to prevent tragedies- be more proactive.
@8TVYWZ6New Democratic4yrs4Y
Spending should remain the same but only be for emergency aid.
@8S2VPYSNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Increase, but only for humanitarian causes and not supporting armed conflicts
@8PPLF2TNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Decrease, until we have no more homeless, no more entire villages without clean water, until there is enough affordable housing to house our Born Citizens. - and then only give foreign aid to nations that are truly in need... i.e. NOT CHINA. China is a powerhouse, and does not require our annual tribute.
@8NZDNDHNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Should be lowered until after debt due to Covid is paid off
@8C8C7LYNew Democratic5yrs5Y
This is not a simple yes or no.
@99HH6R5New Democratic2yrs2Y
Increase, but investigate foreign governments before offering aid.
@99CJGGJNew Democratic2yrs2Y
Decrease, Canadá should help other countries but should first focus on its own citizens and their living standards, as well as until it reduces its debt
@9999W4BNew Democratic2yrs2Y
Decrease, and only provide aid in extreme circumstances with a parliamentary vote. And continue focusing on Canada's own social and economic issues.
@98YYPZKNew Democratic2yrs2Y
Decrease, but only to invest in our northern communities to improve quality of life and access to clean drinking water.
@96GC756New Democratic2yrs2Y
Instead, Canada should collaborate more with NGOs and other independent organizations so that the funds are directed to helping the people, not the governments
@8VVXQ2MNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Decrease until everyone in Canada has clean drinking water
@8TYYXH3New Democratic4yrs4Y
Increase, but only if we know exactly how the money is being used
@Tjolly993yrs3Y
Decrease, only give it to countries with zero human rights violations.
@7PTCG384yrs4Y
I am satisfied with the current amount of spending. However, deny aid to countries that harbor or promote terrorism
@7PTCG384yrs4Y

@7PTCG383yrs3Y
Decrease, but continue to aid countries that have desperate humanitarian crises, and deny aid to countries that harbor or promote terrorism
@7PTCG383yrs3Y
Increase, but aid should primarily be given to countries dealing with widespread health and humanitarian issues such as hunger and deadly contagious diseases, as well as for disaster relief
@7PTCG383yrs3Y
Increase, for disaster relief and countries dealing with health issues such as widespread hunger and contagious diseases
@6HM8ZBP3yrs3Y
Increase to countries with no terrorist ties or record of human rights abuses
@8WCV5PP3yrs3Y
I think the US shoul decrease spending on countries that violate human rights and are cruel to its people and should increase spending to those who are experiencing crisises.
@3L85B6K4yrs4Y
Maintain, but, increase spending for countries with no human rights violations and decrease for countries with human rights violations.
@3KQXSLC4yrs4Y
Increase or keep the same, but funds must be earmarked to never be used for military spending of any kind.
@8PKF6DL4yrs4Y
Change the system of foreign aid to directly support foreign industry.
@7PTCG383yrs3Y
Increase, for countries dealing with health issues such as widespread hunger and contagious diseases, as well as humanitarian issues such as disaster relief
@8PSV2S44yrs4Y
Increase, but only in situations where the parties responsible for the circumstances requiring aid will not benefit or profit from the aid.
@7PTCG383yrs3Y
Increase, for disaster relief and assistance in reducing widespread hunger and contagious diseases in various countries
@7PTCG384yrs4Y
Increase, but aid should be primarily directed towards countries dealing with humanitarian issues such as widespread hunger and disease and disaster relief
