In the first 4 months of 2015 Transport Canada issued 1,600 permits for commercial drones. In contrast, the U.S.’s Federal Aviation Administration issued only 69. Over 110 companies in Canada now provide commercial drone services, which are regularly used by the movie and television industry, oil and gas companies, forestry companies and farmers.

Electoral District (2011):
yes so long as there are regulations put in place to protect the privacy of individuals and ensure drones do not affect any other air crafts in the area
Use of drones itself is not a threat but people with I'll mentality can easily misuse them to do their stuff
Irrelevant. If drones help make people safe, definitely. If drones are used to spy on Canadians, no. By drones, do you mean quadcopters or quad bikes?
yes but let the people in the arey know
Yes, but only if it is eco-friendly and quiet. It should not disturb the peace of citizens.
yes, there should be privacy concerns
With permission and maybe a fee
In public envronemts that do not violate or harm the peace, noice, sleep, rights, ect of people.
Yes, but at a cost and with a licence
both. with permission of people and land your drone is over
Yes, but only for specific commercial, not drones for deliveries
yes but with proper safety and privacy measures
As long as they aren't hurting anyone
Yes, for certain area and research.
The use of drones should be permitted if one is following certain rules and are not violating privacy.
If they send me poo pics
Yes, But if it's used in a neighbourhood to let them know in advance
Yes, but has to be regulated.
Yes, so long as regulations are put into place, so as to respect the rights and property of citizens and businesses
Yes, so long as private and public property laws and regulations are being followed.
Not over private property unless for hired work
only for commercial purposes, other than that, they should be banned
Yes, as long as there is no impact on public safety (eg. air travel)
Yes, but they should be forced to have privacy protections.
Depends on how close the drone is and how much privacy is being invaded for the people/ buildings in it
within certain limits that protect safety (e.g. for airplanes) and personal privacy
yes as long as we know of the drones.
as long as its respectful of peoples privacy and park regulations
They should ask the people being filmed for permission.
If random citizens are in the commercial ask for their consent first
Depends on what they are being used for. Each case on own merits.
Yes with strict public privacy and safety laws.
Yes, as long as existing privacy and surveillance laws are not violated in their use.
Drones should require licenses to ensure they are used responsibly. They are a potential safety threat and can easily be used for terrorism or surveillance.
Yes, but is should be regulated to prevent criminal use, or damaging use
as long they respect the privacy of others, and are used for creative and recreational purposes, other than governmental use
Yes, as long as strict regulations are created
Yes, as long as the drones won't be a danger hazard to people living in that area.
depends on what the commercial purpose is
yes but you need a permit to fly it
Yes, outside of populated areas
@8SV4XVH4yrs4Y
You can use a drone when ever as long as it’s not starting or creeping.
No unless they use the drones on their own property
yes and no because people would probably like their privacy inside of drones always watching them.
They should be permitted with restrictions.
Yes, but they should allow companies to rent them for a commercial but then give them back to the company after using them/their time of when they rented it is over
Yes, as long as the drones are not used to invade the privacy of others
I think there are a lot of rural communities that could benefit from the use of drones. Land locked communities, poor road access. Alternative drone use: hospital needing to send blood to other campus for testing as no lab on site to process. Faster delivery times.
This in my opinions differs in each point of view. In the end i will say it depends on why the use of drones are used.
Yes, but the drones should be equipped with sensors and other safety equipment to prevent crashes.
Yes, only if the drones are environmental and safe for birds, they should have sensors.
It depends. As long as they follow and respect the rules and do not cross boundaries.
It should be within reason and people should be made aware of what is happening.
depends how they are being used and where
we need to have a public debate on this before any decision is made
I don’t really have an opinion
Yes, but with a licence. Drones have the potential for intrusion into the private realm, and this will hopefully be prevented.
yes definitely but they must be a specific distance from airports so that the drones don't intervene with the pilots and the aircraft to prevent Crashes
Yes, but with strict regulations to ensure privacy
As long as it doesn't invade peoples privacy
Yes, with other strict rules in place to make sure they are used properly
only if the area they want to use is cleared of all people for privacy reasons.
Depends on the purpose - must be regulated
So long as they respect privacy, trespassing and other laws
yes but assuring that it is only for commercial use
Yes, as long as its not on private property.
As long as it is on public property.
Not if it interferes with private property
IF they are eco freindly and quiet
Yes if they use them responsibly
This has no relevance to which party I should pick.
Yes as long as it's not in any major government zone.
Some people dont want to be recorded
yeah but have like rules for it. You cant use them to spy on people.
Yes, but in designated areas in order to ensure air traffic safety and doesn't breach anybodies privacy in their homes.
Depends on how important the commercial purpose is
Yes, but with the rules and regulations with the license.
@97RS2YF2yrs2Y
Yes but with certain restrictions, such as no filming without permission in private areas.
Yes, as long as it does not invade the privacy of civilians
No, the technology already exists to create assassin bomb drones
Yes, but only for drones that cannot violate citizen's privacy.
No, It is more electricity usage and will increase the amount of pollution.
If it’s environmentally friendly
Yes, but only the use of small, electric powered drones which would cause minimal collateral damage in a crash scenario.
Yes, but with strict regs.
@Matteo1234Liberal4yrs4Y
Drones, in my opinion, should only be authorized if they are being utilized for commercial purposes, and they should be handled responsibly without compromising anyone's privacy.
Yes, but the drones cannot invade privacy
Yes, but limit the maximum height and restrict to a certain distance from airports
If it is means of delivery, yes. If it is means of spying and collecting data for the use in marketing campaigns, NO. (Referenced from another user). And issue, special permit for users.
