Additionally, we need to allow more nurse practitioners to offer the same services as family GPs, produce more doctors (or promote immigration of Dr.s from other countries), but we need to reign in the salaries of doctors. There is no reason a GP should make 3 to 500k per year after receiving a taxpayer subsidized education. GP salaries and Nurse practitioner salaries could be 180k to 225k for providing family practice services and that would be a fair wage for services offered. If domestically produced Dr.s leave the country they can pay back the government for the subsidized education they received.
