Screening, transparency, regulation, and strict punishment for gun crimes are all much better ways of dealing with gun control than blanket bans. We still have hunting rifles and shotguns these can be used to kill, and criminals won't obey the laws anyway. I think Rand on checks, criminal histories, as well as scoail programs dedicated to reducing crime, poverty, and addressing mental health all have a much better effect than blanket bans.
