Family is who you chose it to be, traditional values of family are not relevant in the modern age.

Family is those you feel closest and safest with, regardless whether they're relatives or friends. People who you spend quality time with and can really trust.

Family isn't necessarily defined by blood but by the bonds that hold the unit together.

Family is whoever you feel most connected to or whoever has helped you grow as a person. You do have to help whoever that is. You have no obligation to support abusive parents because of blood ties or to turn your back on close friends that help you live your life. I have always held this belief.

I think the term family for me has evolved overtime, i used to think the word family was people whom were blood related to me, but as i grow up and continue to grow i realise its the people around me, who support me who i call my family.

the definition of family, I believe is those you are willing to trust with your life. not those related in blood or skin.

I thought it means mom and dad happily together "one big happy family" but I've never had that, y family is very complicated so I think family could be anyone, even if you're not blood related.

A "family" is a unit that one sees themselves as close to, whether they be related to others in it or not. I use to think of it as exclusive to blood relatives.

Family is a built in community for a kid however many families don't function properly and have many problems which lead to children being unsafe and growing up to continue to vicious cycle.

 @9JXB5QQfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

The definition of family is dependent on every citizen. I believe that family can extend past blood.

 @9K544ZPfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

Family used to mean who I was related to, but now to me it means who I feel at home with. Blood means nothing, it’s love that makes a family.

Family is a group of your own people. Family is the way to be kind, loving, and be cared for by one another.

 @9JXCYNSfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

A group of adults and children living in the same household. Sometimes i can be a close connection with a group of people.

 @9JZ8DZ4from British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

To me, family is not limited by blood or legal ties. Family is who you choose to be family. Family is the people who love you, support you, and accept you for who you are. Family is the people you can trust, rely on, and have fun with. Family is the people you share your joys and sorrows with. Family is the people you want to be with, no matter what.

 @9JWYQC3 from British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

Family are people who you feel at home with. They so not necessarily need to be blood relatives. This has defiantly changed over time for me. I believed as a kid that your family is only blood related, but now that I have grown up I understand that it isn't blood that makes people family it is the bonds and memories they share.

i define family as the people who are close to you and the people you can trust, or talk to. the people that love you and make you feel safe.
