Yes, but only strategic cuts that eliminate waste and inefficiencies, overall public spending on health, environment and military should be maintained but the super wealthy who make a $750,000 or more a year should be taxed more.

government should make some cuts, but we should enable the private sector to producer new and more efficient products, and then we can begin taxing those industries once they have a firm foothold in the global economy.

I think that large scale spending based on placating special interest is the real problem. An example of this would be the disproportional payouts to Quebec and the large bailouts made to eastern Canada every time there is an election.
