I think we should stop buying so much international goods, and start looking at the vision of local produce, just because then it would require more job positions and reduce the homeless population.

I believe there could be some public spending cut but there are many other avenues that can be taken as well. It would have to be informed of what public spending we are talking about cutting because Health Care and Education are important to bring our Country forward. We could increase taxes on the wealthy as they are able to afford the tax increase, as well as reducing the number of Government officials.

 @8VH8Y2Kfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only unnecessary spending. For example, federal employees should not be allowed to use tax payer dollars to buy alcohol.

 @8VBYF2ZNew Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No, focus on making sure the wealthy, as well as large corporations, pay their share of taxes

 @8V8LQD4New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Tax the wealthy individuals and large competitions and stop giving government officials raises.

The government should drastically reduce the benefits and salaries of government officials, reduce military spending, end tax evasion and loopholes, and increase taxes on the wealthy.

Yes, by increasing taxes on the wealthy and on large multinational corporations, and reducing military spending.

  @8TFVW57New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Public spending should be based on the value it provides Canadians and governmental institutions.

 @8T4XK6Pfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but don't cut all services. Instead, lower government officials pay by 50% and all those savings will go to help to pay off the national debt as well other cuts from the government.

I am unable to choose between these options, as I agree with multiple of them. I think that military spending should be reduced, tax evasion should be ended, taxes on the wealthy should be increased, and taxes should be increased on large corporations. And public spending should not be reduced at all, it should be increased.

 @8ZLQG4Zfrom Saskatchewan  answered…3yrs3Y

It depends on what they’re cutting. However, if it’s something that isn’t very important for the community, then it could by cut to reduce the national debt.

 @8V76GNDNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Adjust the tax system by ending tax evasion, implement a foreign ownership tax for those who buy Canadian homes and properties, tax the wealthy, and tax the profits of corporations and big business profits that are made from Canadian resources including our human resources. We need to shift the mindset that corporations are doing us a favor by being here, to one the recognizes their responsibilities to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and employee safety and compensation.

 @9STLJ7BNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…8mos8MO

No, they should look for other ways to reduce the national debt, such as raising taxes on large multinational corporations and wealthier individuals. Public services are important and vital to a society as they can help those in need to help the country run.
