We need to focus on providing more public transportation before we can worry about how it's powered. We need cheaper public transportation to rural communities. It would be great if it was also environmentally friendly though.

 @B4KRLDXfrom Manitoba  answered…6 days6D

We should slowly start moving towards this but do not completely get rid of fuel running transportation. I would like to know the cost breakdown. Will the cost of electric power increase overtime? I need more information on this process.

Depends on the cost. If fuel is cheaper than electric, then I’m fine with that. It would be great to have electric but not at the cost to Citizens. So many tax hikes this year, why we we do that to our people

Moving away from fossil fuels should be the goal. Whether that's electricity, hydrogen or other solutions

 @B323YJRfrom Manitoba  answered…2mos2MO

All new additions to infrastructure should be electric, slow replacement of pre-existing infrastructure, funded by removing oil subsidies and applying carbon taxes

 @9ZM5X8Cfrom Manitoba  answered…5mos5MO

Extreme stance, and not the most important issue currently. You just want to profiteer off hydro the way you already do with gas

 @9YKHL3Bfrom Manitoba  answered…5mos5MO

No, buses should use whatever fuel sources they currently use while trains should use a pressure power generator also known as kinetic energy

 @9WH9V2Ffrom Manitoba  answered…6mos6MO

i think it wouldnt hurt to have some that are electrique but not all cause that would be extremly expensive

 @9RCXHVJCommunistfrom Manitoba  answered…9mos9MO

Electrifying buses and trains is good but should be secondary to just expanding bus and train fleets period

 @9JYPG3KConservativefrom Manitoba  answered…1yr1Y

Trains could run on electric overhead wires, however battery powered buses may have reduced reliability during harsh winter

depends on the current technological advancements we make in the future. I think currently, we do not have the technology that will help the economical crisis that is global warming

 @96BHBSGfrom Manitoba  answered…3yrs3Y

This is a loaded question. We should be looking at the source of the power, not the type of power delivery. Coal powered electricity to fill a battery is no better for the world.

 @968QZDMfrom Manitoba  answered…3yrs3Y

I think we should start making them Elyria because it will help our envoirment but I think we should do it much more slower because our economy couldn’t afford taxes to be that high..

Electric vehicle research in extreme cold weather needs to be worked on before being implemented in CA

Both fossil fuels and batteries are harming the earth due to when the batteries for cars die they get shipped to china and berried in a mountain

There should be a combination of electric and development of alternate fuels.

 @8VQ29ZWNew Democraticfrom Manitoba  answered…4yrs4Y

NO! Winnipeg, and other prairie cities, can not run on only electric buses all year. They are not reliable enough to run on our colder months, and we do not have the staff to fix them when they break down.

 @8VMZTSQfrom Manitoba  answered…4yrs4Y

Electric but the generation could be diesel coal or oil (hemp) powered to produce the electricity

Ran on solar power and corn maybe? Let’s not ruin our earth even more, now

 @973CVLRfrom Manitoba  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, Which ever makes sense for them to use to be the most efficient for the people who must use it daily.

 @96WMJ65from Manitoba  answered…2yrs2Y

I don't think our winter weather is appropriate to have electric buses, too many mishaps can occur which more spending would have to go into

 @93B2CSQLibertarianfrom Manitoba  answered…3yrs3Y

Running busses on electric only power would take massive batteries. While I do like electric powered vehicles, I think hybrids are a better solution

Yes, when electricity becomes and remains cheaper than gas/diesel powered transport.
