The transportation sector is the main contributor of greenhouse gases. One initiative towards mitigating these gases is sustainable transportation, with significant reductions in emissions in this sector.

Yes, but not battery based. Battery are bad, polute and are dangerous. Electricity has other means of being used.
@B2DQ5HF3mos3MO
No not all, study the cost of maintaining and repairing these modes of transportation in our climate and compare over time to see if costs could be reduced. Don't make a complete switch without studying data if you can, that is retarded.
@9YGQ4B35mos5MO
Yes because it is better but it is still not the best and why change just for change to something a little bit better
@9RBQGTN9mos9MO
Yes in areas where it is feasible to do so, recognizing that our northern areas may need to rely on older oil based tech while electrical technology becomes a feasible long term solution in extreme cold.
@9GNB6WC1yr1Y
yes they should but this is not relevant until all electricity is comming from green sources and not fossil fuels.
@9FLWJ532yrs2Y
I think they should all be hybrid. Electric vehicles arent quite good enough yet to be fully sufficient
@9D87QVY2yrs2Y
Yes, but the free market must solve the problem, not regulations
@969285MNew Democratic3yrs3Y
Yes, and transition slowly as we invest more in other renewable energy sources
@93DGCV93yrs3Y
Yes but we should move towards producing more sustainable soucres of that electricity.
@8ZNBTKY3yrs3Y
As long as it gets me where I need to be
@8YC6HXM3yrs3Y
I believe we should evaluate other options than electric power only. Components and resources required to build electric vehicles may not lower man made pollution that creates climate change. There are a massive amount of buses and trains that will simply not disappear by switching and current recycling and disposal plans will add a series of new issues to the problem. The methods of generating power may not be able to support an all electric power system, creating an electricity shortage. We have seen other countries recently switch back to coal as a quick fix for the energy crisis they are experiencing.
@8Y799G23yrs3Y
"all"— Too strong of modality. I'm sure we could find at least one example where electric-powered public transport would not be a better solution to other methods.
@8Y4YDJT3yrs3Y
Yes, but not with the use of batteries
@8WFRGBH4yrs4Y
More electric vehicles and more renewable power generating projects
Yes , but with a backup resolution to power outages
@8VPBPF74yrs4Y
No, there should be an gradual shift towards public transportation running on electric power, with the ultimate goal of public transportation to run on green energy, but not at the expense of shutting down or discarding the current transport which, ultimately, will leads to more waste.
@8VNP4XT4yrs4Y
Yes. But we should use what we have and replace them as needed
@8VN96QG4yrs4Y
"All" is an extreme term in that it is not a cost effective possibility in small / rural towns
@8VMF7964yrs4Y
No, but encourage companies to use that type of energy.

Focus should be on making it affordable
@8VK33KS4yrs4Y
If it lowers pollution yes but first figure out how all those batteries will be disposed of
@8VJMXD34yrs4Y
@9CMF7HS2yrs2Y
Somewhat, some should some shouldn't
@9C7QQ2V2yrs2Y
No, new ones only. Don’t replace those that use fuel and that currently function. The new buses and trains should be electric though.
@98WZ87R2yrs2Y
It should but it should not be the main priority right now
@98M5YTY2yrs2Y
Trains - yes, Buses - No.
@97VBYPL2yrs2Y
A slow and steady change, but nothing to extreme
