Yes, as long as the infrastructure is in place for all cities and the technology used is not environmentally harmful.

 @9TVTH6BLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…7mos7MO

It depends on different cities and public transportation development plans. If it's beneficial for a certain term, it should be one option.

Because no matter what we’re still destroying the earth with electric cars because every 5 years you go to change the battery we’re taking lithium out of the ground and we can’t even get the lithium back

 @9HFGXH6Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but the government should find solutions to recycle batteries to avoid affecting the environment

 @9FLTJMXLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

I think that some public transit should be powered by electric power but only as much as we can reasonably afford.

 @9FHP9H8Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

No, it would cost too much to introduce fully electric systems. Hybrid model is okay for now

 @9G46BHHLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Although I’m okay with pop diesel powered buses and trains, I think we need a lot more electric transportation in Canada tho

 @9B2WM7FLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

it would increase the energy demand by to much if all at once. it should be a slow migration

 @99YBXJJLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

When the current info structure is still safe to operate and is not immediately harmful to the environment we should continue ti use it for as long as possible however once it is necessary,
to replace we should replace it with more environmentally friendly options

 @99WWQD2Liberalfrom Saskatchewan  answered…2yrs2Y

No, not all buses should run on electrical power, but we should increase the amount of electircal powered buses as it would be more ecofriendly.

 @96L5V4TLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

I would say no to buses and yes to city trains but trains outside of the city shouldn't. My reason is that any electric cars you see are mostly stuck on the side of the road because their car died. If that happens with transit and resource-moving trains, that would cause considerable problems in many places.

 @95PPBVHLiberalfrom Manitoba  answered…3yrs3Y

Electric vehicle research in extreme cold weather needs to be worked on before being implemented in CA

 @93WYSQWLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Not until we have the right amount of infrastructures to support electric vehicles

 @93VSHRVLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

 @936M5P2Liberalfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8ZW2728Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

no because electric cars are no better for the environment because when be batteries are done they just sit in a junkyard hurting the environment

 @8ZBXQZGLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

The government should find something else for buses and trains to run on like solar power

 @8Z3Q232Liberalfrom Saskatchewan  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8Z3CSQ4Liberalfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

It really depends. Sky trains yes, but sometimes busses are on highways for a while and you run the risk of them losing power

 @8YTLR8TLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

no, we should focus on eliminating gas cars before worrying about public transportation

 @8VPZ6TFLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

I would say yes and no. yes cause that's what our buses run-on with. no because we use a lot of fossil fuels to create electricity which releases gases into our atmosphere and we waste a bunch of earth resources in the result that we are destroying earth.

 @8VNLZM8Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Some should run on electrical energy and making all run in electric should be something to work towards

 @8VLHCLYLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VLDWJPLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Not all public buses and trains run on electric power but only parts of them run on electric power

 @9D36K4QLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

It should be an option, but there should also be exploration of hydrogen fuel cell as well as other forms of low-GHG tech, as not every climate is going to work well with one thing.

 @9BHQ9R3Liberalfrom Manitoba  answered…2yrs2Y

 @992CQJBLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but the majority of public transport should be electric such as trains

 @98FDQDJLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

 @97XSR6NLiberalfrom New Brunswick  answered…2yrs2Y

 @97D3ZP8Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but this must be done gradually while increasing taxes and regulation of the fossil fuel industry

 @8W4GZY7Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

City public transport should run on electric power but town and smaller areas should not since that will take too much money out of other things that need funding

 @8VQH83PLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, in Metropolitan/High Urban areas where infrastructure will be easy to implement.

 @98FPFSYLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but there should also be investments in infrastructure to make sure that they can be repaired and maintained within the city, otherwise it's not a worthwhile investment to make, and it makes it challenging.
