Depends on how that electricity is generated. A mixture of energy is possible if sustainable generation is achieved.

Fossil fuels supplemented with batteries till the EV issues are sorted out 100% ie renewable resources cold climate and reliability

No, Not all areas have the resources to produce electricity in a more environmentally friendly manner than fossil fuels. Depending on the area and the method for obtaining electricity, buses should run on electricity. However, in areas where coal is used to produce electricity, electric buses are not really more beneficial than fossil fuel buses.
