I support hydrogen fuel cells as a better alternative to electric. In the absence of hydrogen, electric is fine for provinces that generate their electricity from renewable sources or nuclear power. Otherwise, it doesn’t matter.

Rolling out electric buses is a good idea but any bus is gonna be pretty environmentally friendly as opposed to a car.
@9T9BN2C7mos7MO
No, there are numerous communities were electric based public transportation would not function due to weather conditions.
@9FLTTGZ2yrs2Y
Only if it can be done in an efficient manner
@95R9JSBNew Democratic3yrs3Y
Yes, but not at the expense of getting transit services implemented efficiently.
@93RP7WT3yrs3Y
I think that there should be a balance between gas powered and electrical powered buses and trains.
@8Z4XV373yrs3Y
the sudden change would be drastically expensive and the gov cant take on any more debt, so yes there should be a change but it needs to be gradual
It really depends. Sky trains yes, but sometimes busses are on highways for a while and you run the risk of them losing power
@8VQG74C4yrs4Y
Electric trains not busses
@8VP65PP4yrs4Y
@8VNZPWH4yrs4Y
We should work towards this in the future

Start to get them in place gradually
@8VLBQ4N4yrs4Y
Yes, but the government should create green jobs and support local cities transition to electic power
@8VJN7V94yrs4Y
Not until our power grids can handle this. Same with electric cars. Putting the cart before the horse otherwise
@8VHQNWRNew Democratic4yrs4Y
All buses should run in hybrid power and advance to electric
@999V8KK2yrs2Y
No, electric isn’t the most efficient energy source for all vehicles or situations. Additional alternative fuel sources such as hydrogen are important considerations.
@995TZQD2yrs2Y
yes if possible,if not and its too expensive no
@98HXPMV2yrs2Y
No, what until the power source is reliable enough to power a vehicle of that magnitude.
@97TBQ4M2yrs2Y
No, Batteries are harder for firefighters to put out and cause a higher death rate
@8VNQR4J4yrs4Y
Yes if they are able to, extra transit is needed in rural areas, especially to help lower income and Indigenous folk so regular vehicles could go there
