I support increased public transportation, but this is mostly contingent on the city layout facilitating public transportation. Designing roads for cars, and generally making cities hard to traverse as a pedestrian, and then spending money on public transportation ill-suited for the existing infrastructure, sounds like dumping money down the toilet to me.
