Should there be more restrictions on the current process of purchasing a gun?

No, Canada already had a good program in place before the Trudeau Government came in to office

Pass an in class gun course written and practical.

Pass a back ground check done by the chief of firearms.

And be required to show a valid pal upon purchase of firearms and ammunition.

Not all guns are for war and not all people use them to harm or injure anybody or belongings.

Yes, but only for non-surgical treatments such as puberty blockers and hormone therapy
