Yes, subsidize the installation of local/individual solar/wind apparatus to reduce the dependance on current methods and pass the savings on to home owners/renters who participate.

No. Renewable energy doesn't have enough power per ton to power the world. The proper way to go is nuclear power.

Government should support current non-renewable industries and only use tax revenue from them to subsidize the production and consumption of renewable energy sources.
