The federal government should not do anything to the Senate. The Senate should be comprised of democratically elected members, with 6 year terms, 33% of which is up for election every 2 years.

Direct democracy over "representation". I don't feel any representation with the current govt. And too much corruption

 @9YNBMP4from Alberta  answered…5mos5MO

Every province gets 10 senators, appointed by the provincial legislature. That way then the electorate changes it's will at a provincial election they can change the makeup of the federal government.

Leave as is but promote outstanding Canadians rather than political partisans

 @9F5KMPVfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Abolish the Senate. The senate has no place in the government as they are not elected. It is wrong to have had picked appointed Senate. If the Senate has to exist the public should vote them in.

 @9G5RCDKfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

I think the senate is still necessary, just in case but we do need to have more strict rules for them so people actually show up and aren’t just using it for money because it’s costing Canada a lot.

The entire government should be reorganized into a Constitutional Republic with an elected head of state, elected MPs, and senators who serve 6 year terms, 33% of whom are up for election every 2 years.

Triple e senate elected, equal (same number of senators for each province) and efficient

 @8V4FMBCGreenfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

The system should switch to mirror the true democratic system like in Switzerland.

Elect, the senate has the potential to reflect the needs of the different regions of our country, but will be ultimately ineffective if the senators are not held accountable.

 @8K222LSfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

the people should vote on the senate if the senate is for the people the people should vote on them

 @8F4PBPCNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

Again, I am all too confused by all this wording so I cannot make any decision

 @8C5KS8Qfrom Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

Elect, implement a maximum time in office, and any senator convicted of a crime while in that position be removed.

 @99LLKSMfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Maintain First past the post elections for the House of Representatives, and preform Representative elections for the Senate

Two senators should be elected from each province and territory as a way to balance the power of government across the country.

 @9CHX2V2from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Canadians should elect a Triple-E Senate, not the Federal Government. Fix your wording, what it says now is clearly not your intended question.

 @8RWBJNQfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

I would elect it, but make it so only people with certain honors or work exprience can.

Keep the Senate but appoint senators through an independent, non-partisan body, set term limits, and increase transparency.
