If they do not go through puberty, had puberty blockers/enhancers for males, they should be allowed to compete against the gender they are now. If they went through puberty then no.

We should remove the gendered aspect of competitive sports somewhat to focus more on skill category than gender. This also allows a better inclusion of non-binary and otherwise gender-diverse people in sports.

 @8V7G59Jfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Trans men are welcome to participate in men's events. Trans women should either participate in men's events or not participate at all.

Depending on when the transition occurred. A trans female athlete who started transitioning as an adolescent will have different hormone levels then one who transitioned as a young adult or adult.

 @9YHMCTV from British Columbia  answered…5mos5MO

i feel that there should be an option for trans athletes to compete against each other, but still given the option to compete against cis people if their hormone levels are similar

 @9W9M54Xfrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, gender shouldn’t matter when it comes to athletic competing and skill evaluations. If an individual qualifies for the given and/or chosen category then they should be allowed to compete in it.

 @9W58D5GNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

I feel like transgender athletes have every right to compete. However, we need to make time to decide on new regulations/rules in order to move forward.

 @9W2S8SCfrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

No, create a new category for all athletes to compete regardless of gender, come as you are, know your risks and challenges.

 @9VR7Z2Qfrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

This is a very difficult question that will likely not be solved easily, you can’t create a separate category because there isn’t enough transgender athletes for that. And if someone transitions they want to be thought of as what they transitioned to they might feel discriminated against if you say they should still play in the same gender category. I don’t have an answer for this question

 @9VPM39Vfrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

This isn't something that concerns me, and I don't want to have to worry about it, because I don't plan on doing the Olympics

 @9TNBDV8from British Columbia  answered…7mos7MO

It should be up to the governing bodies of each sport. Certain sports don't need to be segregated by gender as it is.

 @9TJBX8Mfrom British Columbia  answered…7mos7MO

as an athlete No because if a trans woman is competing against a biological female the trans women will be stronger, bigger and hormone levels are diffrent like testosterone the the female which makes it dangerous for the biological female expetialy in sports like boxxing, wrestling, and Bmx racing. trans athletes should be forced to compete against their biological gender!

 @9QPR3YPfrom British Columbia  answered…10mos10MO

no, because it is not fair once you get to a certain age because men are much stronger then woman and they could cause more damage to the woman if in contact.

 @9LNCC45 from British Columbia  answered…12mos12MO

Yes, but only if their biological sex places them at a physical disadvantage (female to male transgenders for example)

 @9KTRK67from British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but it should be up to each sport's governing body as all sports have different factors to condider

 @9JXN7JSfrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I do not believe they should simply because of their biology and the fact one sex is biologically stronger than the other and would be unfair for either them or others depending what they transitioned from

 @9FHJYW3from British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

 @8PDQ9CJfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

There should be a transgender olympics/event becuase if you identify as a woman but biologically a man you still have the speed and strength of a man.

 @8P8DCNYfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8NYM4G4from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

No, the measuring of hormones isn't effective enough to allow them to compete and it stay fair.

 @9VWBXVRfrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, as long as they had been transitioned for most of their life, equivalent hormones to compared sex, and muscle growth is comparable.

 @9VW556Hfrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

Yes and no, biological males should only compete with males, but biological females can compete in any category unless they are taking unfair hormones that would otherwise be banned in sport.

 @9VTJSVHfrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

Athletes should compete based on skill and class sort of like boxing does. Gender shouldn’t matter if they are matched skill wise

 @9VRGLZYfrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

the fine line of who should compete where and when should be decided by experts no popular opinion, and gender may or may not be part of that consideration. Maybe gender shouldn't be the way we separate categories anymore

 @8V4X524from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Sports committees should introduce athletic events specific for transgenders only if they are to participate in sport

 @8VJY5VNfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VFPMFXfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

When a transgender girl competes against other girls and crushes all records makes me lean on the no side even though I hope for a more excepting world. Hormones won’t change your bones structure. When women are allowed to compete with men and visa versa I’ll be more excepting.

 @8VFNKZ2from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only if they are equivalent in skill to other competitors, no unfair advantage

 @8VD4SKWfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VBY38Bfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

no. i support transgender equality but formal competition should be substance-free and not influenced by medicines, etc.

 @8TYBYFQfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but athletic events should be reinvented to be more inclusive while still being fair

  @8TXVXMLfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

The Government shouldn't fund sports events. Private Leagues, Player Associations and Sports organizations should be allowed to set their own rules and contracts in this manner. Individual Sportsmen/women as well.

 @8TV492Sfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but different categories need to exist for trans athletes to participate in, including "open" categories where people of different genders can compete against each other should they want to.

 @8QVG6XNfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes at the recreational level but not at national Olympic level. Professional level that is private none of the government business.

 @8QTKBDLLibertarianfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8QNBDR3from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8NVTHQ4from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

The organization should be free to set whatever requirements they want.

 @8NDT3MNGreenfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Transgender athletes should compete against each other in their own category. It seems that any past or present exposure to androgenous hormones should be relatively compensated for regardless of the current gender of the competitors if this was the case.

 @8LRW74FLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

No because even if their hormone levels are equivalent they still have the skeletal structure advantage or disadvantage

 @8KL8NGVfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Trans men yes trans women no if they went through male puberty. Trans women have an unfair advantage if they went through male puberty.

 @8K8V4Q8from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @9B3CMGVfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Transgender athletes need their own sports divisions, similar to disabled people who enjoy their own Paralympics etc.

 @99GTJ64from British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

 @98SL5S5New Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and if we categorize based on hormone levels then we should have all categories based off hormone levels rather than sex

 @98699X9from British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

No a new category should be made however if a biological female turned male should compete against males and biological males turn female should compete against male until these categories are created

 @97Z6ZZ9Liberalfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, if they started hormone replacement earlier in life during puberty

 @94BCJHRConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9443TCHfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

This is a loaded and offensive question as it assumes that sex is assigned at birth. No one's sex is ever "assigned", it is determined at conception. It would be more inclusive to rephrase the question so that all can answer it.

 @8YN274Kfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8VVSQHMGreenfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

All athletic competition should be based on height, weight, and ability. Sex and gender should not even be considered.

 @8V797LJPeople’sfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but Trans people should only be allowed to play against males due to hormonal advantages

 @8V5PXN8from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TSVS45from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only in their own categories. (add a trans male and trans female category)

 @8TK5968from British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

there should be separate sports teams purely for transgenders to compete against each other like how how there's men's sports and women's sports just add transgender sports

 @8TG9BMKfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @96CJFM3New Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

Categorization should be based on hormone level exclusively and gender should be irrelevant.

 @8PWLPJSfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

No, they should compete in races that are dedicated to transgender people, so it's absolutely fair.

 @8X6PZPCNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8VWXDZSfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but there needs to be extra competitive categories developed determined by a board overseeing athletic events and this should be world wide.

 @8VS5X3XGreenfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Separate category for trans men & trans women, so competing with people who have similar physical capabilities

 @8VPDPKKfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

There should be categories added for certain events to accept the unique circumstance of transgender athletes

 @8VLG64Nfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VLKD3Zfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

We should have a transgender only athletic events,
It is unfair to people who train their whole lifes (females) to get destroyed by someone who is naturally has an advatage (MtoF) even with hormones.

Just like its unfair for a FtoM playing agienst males who will annihilate him.

I love my trans friends, but we cant ignore that fact that like it or not you can have advatages or disadvatages.
I support the trans community but the tech is not fully there for them to fully transition 100%
