I believe both should be able to work together within the education system to ensure consistency, workflow, and staffing.

 @9RZPX67from Alberta  answered…8mos8MO

depends on the credentials. what pays better, a consultancy in a mid level bureaucracy in Ottawa or some entry level paying oil rig job in Alberta

 @9RBPNXJfrom Alberta  answered…9mos9MO

I would say federal only because I'm in Alberta and the UCP is are kleptocrats, but under normal circumstances I'd say provincial.

 @9LNPGWGfrom Alberta  answered…12mos12MO

Education should still be free but without government involvement, The government should have the outline but the PATs are stupid

 @9JVMDPQfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I do not care whatever government brings the most amount of money in and success of students for the benefit of Canada.

 @9JN3LGRConservativefrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Both levels of government should play a equal role in making post secondary more affordable but nothing else

 @9H9CM57New Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Many students travel outside of their home province for post-secondary education, so it would be easier for students if it were all the same.

 @9H8XS2XConservativefrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

As long as we get free education; it doesn’t matter whether it is a provincial or federal responsibility.

Universities should be public and free to attend. University should be a federal responsibly.

 @9V576Z9from Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

It doesn't matter as long as they give better support and offer more money to help pay for students tuition by either enforcing universities to lower the tuition or help pay for some of the costs debt free.

 @9TZHZWZfrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

We need to better our country's spending to be inline with the money needed for higher education. Provincial should have more involvement, but federal would make better workflow if added.

 @9TQZFQQfrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

both federal and provincial, federal for low income, provincial for high opportunity for people to stay in the province

 @9FQ9Y26from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Education should not b as generating business . So my opinion is that support student and given access to all regardless of afford or not because purpose is spreading education and if someone don’t afford that also have to have access to education and student have a right to give funding to themselves and then they if could pay to college and universities they ll pay and if there is class and if who don’t afford they must accommodate as they may b potential so if the y ll get education they ll b empower so deprive any one from education ll b a disaster so there must b passion to…  Read more

Provincial, that way theres more opportunitys for more specific education and resources, instead of just a "one size fits all" type of education

 @95KP8VQfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

 @957BZS7from Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

There should be federal and provincial access the student loans but what is taught is left to the post secondary institutions

 @93L5WD3from Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Post-secondary should be a joint provincial and federal responsibility.

 @92M8FFHfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Should have funding (combined should equal about 60%) from both federal and provincial to ensure standards and maintain diverse programs to prevent corporate funding being high enough to dictate what a post secondary school can teach

 @928SH73from Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

It should be a shared responsibility, but please reduce the amount of standardized testing.

The government should not be heavily involved with higher education unless it is required when meeting specific skill requirements like doctor or lawyer or certain trades that directly apply to the Canadian government and people.

 @8WDBT5BConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

If you go to post secondary education you should pay for it with cash or student loans

 @8VQNZB8from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VQCY8Pfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

I believe it should be funded publicly,and that standards should be left to the province

 @8VPCP3Rfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VNPSTTfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Since the education system is very inconsistent federally, and is different in each province, doing it on a federal level would interfere and invalidate some of the parts of school that people learned, and teaching people more advanced stuff compared to stuff they might not have learn, so to give them advanced classes/more classes that they might not have been apart of or not available inside the place of their education. So provincial level so that the education can be consistent towards what they were learning in their primary school.

 @8VN2H54from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Education should be free for all canadians and encouraged by government

 @8VHL735from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Adequate funding and keeping political ideology out of funding no matter where it comes from. Fair Federal funding might keep the nitwits from making funding choices

 @8VGQ5N2from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Both. The education of our citizens is vital to the success of our nation.

 @8VG7CX3from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VDHL7Hfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Post secondary should be free. People should not be starting life $100,000 in debt. Many other countries give free post secondary

 @8RWBJNQfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

The Federal government should set minor standards, but very limited.
Provincial governments should hold the majority of regulatory power, but shouldn't be given to much power.
The municipal governments should be in charge of regulating local and community colleges.
Community groups should also work with the community college regulating people.
Private companies should be in charge of their own for-profit post secondaries.
Charities can run non profit post secondary schools.
School Boards can also run their own post secondary schools.

 @8QQZPGVConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

In the current economy, it is almost impossible to obtain a standard full-time job without postsecondary education, therefore it is absurd for postsecondary institutions to be privatized and heavily profited off of.

 @8CWR7TPfrom Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

Post secondary is expensive. If the government wants the economy to thrive and flourish we need people to be able to afford education required for those higher level jobs

 @8CS7JYBfrom Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

a joint role for the Province to manage education of Federal standards, and funded by both

 @8CR2XDRfrom Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

federal cause it's going to be federals problem when education is not good cause economy will go down

 @9CLG96WLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Postsecondary education is formatted to profit the government more than the teachers. I think education should have standards monitored by government, however the curriculum should not be affected by the government.

 @9BYHZNHfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Both the Federal and Provincial governments should be responsible for post-secondary education

 @99MR6J3from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Federal, with each school board being able to inquire as to the necessity of a student learning each topic and if that topic will help them in their carriers.

 @9958DJ5from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @992T9PHfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @98GGKZ8from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

It should be both. Provincial should do what they can and federal should oversee and help. A province with lower populations and fewer post secondary institutions could need full federal support.

 @8QDT6XCNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Provincially managed with federal redistribution of funds to ensure equality

 @8D8S5H2from Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

Post Secondary institutions should ensure balanced view points and funding should be partially tied to campuses fostering healthy debate and not echo chambers

 @8V9D5ZLfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Personal responsibility. Provincial student loans must be repaid!!! No bankruptcy protection permitted.

 @8V55QDJfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

There should be an annual flat amount that is funded federally for all qualifying institutions (could come with requirements and standards to ensure consistency) but last that it should be largely provincially funded and managed

 @8TWZJ3Lfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

More money should be allocated to educate our youth. Keep the money in Canada and spend less overseas

 @8TWHGQPfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Provide a share of the loan only for the student to get the exact learning they need no more bs course that have no need in life

 @8TVPY84from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

I think government can be involved in establishing minimum educational standards with the basics...reading, writing, math, etc...but educators need to stay away of social issues...educators should not be able to impose their views on children

 @8TVC2C6from Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Federal government should have standards, but everything else shouldn’t at all be influenced by government.

 @8TSH239Conservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

The Federal government should amend provincial education and have Canadian Education under one division of government in a partnership with its provinces and territories. We are currently an education in which or nation is divided. This should be rectified in the decades to come.
