Children need to be loved and cared for. The system is struggling to support children that have been removed from their homes or do not have a home; why would we not support children being accepted into a home where they will be cared for? It would be a bonus to Canada if this alleviated some of the financial pressures as well.

Why do you or the state get to have a say in who has the right to be a parent? What makes a queer person less qualified than a heterosexual as a parent?
@B4277TB2wks2W
Simple. As long as the parents classify as sane and pass all the maternal requirements there should be no problem.

Every kid deserves parents, it’s cruel to decide that a child is better off parent-less than to be adopted by same sex parents.
@B2H6G8B3mos3MO
I think that having both a father and a mother figure in your life is important, but I don’t think those roles are gender assigned. I think gay parents would be just as good, if not better than straight parents.

if you are allowed to freely love your partner others should be able to do the same without judgement. If that is not what you like, good thing it isn't you. Accept society is changing and growing. LGBTQ couples are just as capable of having a child as straight couples. the same love and care is there. if not more.
@B247BW84mos4MO
Because children have a right to family and there is no evidence that gay or lesbian couples are less fit to parent than straight couples.

People in the LGBT community should have the same adoption rights as heterosexual people as sexual orientation or gender identity should not be the thing affecting the factors on whether someone is fit to adopt a child and care for them.
@9LNBK9LNew Democratic12mos12MO
LGBTQ+ people are no different than straight people and their sexual preference has no effect on their parenting abilities

Everyone is human and a person. Gender identification or same sex partners should have a choice and right to raise a family as every human is able too why exclude humans for a personal preference.
Having same sex parents does not affect the child in any mental or physical sense. "New research shows that children adopted into lesbian and gay families are as well-adjusted as children adopted by heterosexual parents, and follow similar patterns of gender development." said Charlotte J. Patterson, PhD, a psychology professor at the University of Virginia. Having same sex parents may provide the child with a more safe and a comfortable life style.

LGBT should have adoption rights, only if they are qualified to and if they meet psychological standards for adoption, as well as a proper home.
a child can be raised by any two parents there is even single parents. Straight couples and same sex couples can have the same capability to raise a good citizen. plus Same sex couples can't have their own biological children easily so adopting may be the only choice.
@9FTWNW62yrs2Y
people in the lgbt are human too so they should be allowed to adopt just like a straight couple can.
@9FH6KQF2yrs2Y
They have to go through the same system as straight parents who couldn't have kids. To make sure the home is safe.

The best argument against banning LGBT adoption is that children need loving, stable homes, and the sexual orientation of the parents doesn’t affect their ability to provide that. Studies consistently show that kids raised by LGBT parents do just as well as those raised by heterosexual couples in terms of mental health, education, and overall well-being. With thousands of children in foster care waiting for homes, restricting LGBT adoption only keeps more kids in the system unnecessarily. Good parenting is about love, support, and stability—not gender or sexual orientation. Denyin… Read more
