homophobic laws are hateful, coercive, and disturbing and seek to impose authoritarian clerical domination on people for being who they are. It remains a mystery to me why people can't get it through their brains that being gay is an innate trait you are born with and is completely natural and human. Any laws that discriminate against LGBT people are rooted in bigotry and ideologies that represent the most decrepit, self-flagellating irrational animuses of humanity.
@9GFRJZV1yr1Y
Children need to be loved and cared for. The system is struggling to support children that have been removed from their homes or do not have a home; why would we not support children being accepted into a home where they will be cared for? It would be a bonus to Canada if this alleviated some of the financial pressures as well.
They should be able to adopt children because if they are fit to be a parent they have should the same rights.
@B4583GR2wks2W
Why do you or the state get to have a say in who has the right to be a parent? What makes a queer person less qualified than a heterosexual as a parent?
@B4277TB2wks2W
Simple. As long as the parents classify as sane and pass all the maternal requirements there should be no problem.
@B3WMSWW3wks3W
Every child deserves a loving home, and the gender or sexuality of the people raising that child should not be relevant in this.
@B3WH2ZN3wks3W
Children need loving parents. Being part of the LGBT community doesn't make a prospective adoptive parent any more or less loving.
I can argue from a moral stance. There is no difference between a straight individual and an individual in the LGBTQ+ community. What does sexual orientation/gender identity have to do with being a sound hum
@B36YYHV1mo1MO
There is no definitive evidence or proof that adopted children have any worse outcomes under homosexual couples.
@B2QWW772mos2MO
Every kid deserves parents, it’s cruel to decide that a child is better off parent-less than to be adopted by same sex parents.
@B2NKLX8Independent2mos2MO
If I can't choose to adopt children due to my sexual identity, parents who are infertile and bisexual but in a straight relationship should also be banned from adopting children. They are also LGBTQ.
@B2H6G8B3mos3MO
I think that having both a father and a mother figure in your life is important, but I don’t think those roles are gender assigned. I think gay parents would be just as good, if not better than straight parents.
@B2FYGHS3mos3MO
Allowing LGBT individuals to adopt is crucial for the well-being of children and society. Studies show that children raised by same-sex parents thrive just as well as those with heterosexual parents, benefiting from stable, loving homes. Same-sex couples often adopt children who are harder to place, reducing the number of children in foster care. Denying LGBT adoption rights is discriminatory and contradicts principles of equality and human rights. Legalizing LGBT adoption promotes social acceptance and reduces stigma, ensuring all families are respected. While some cite religious beliefs to oppose LGBT adoption, the primary focus should be on the child’s best interests, ensuring they have access to a wider pool of loving parents.
@B2FXNW53mos3MO
Their is no real reason to ban LGBTQ parents from adopting children, two dads or two moms are infinitly better then none
@B2B9LQC3mos3MO
if you are allowed to freely love your partner others should be able to do the same without judgement. If that is not what you like, good thing it isn't you. Accept society is changing and growing. LGBTQ couples are just as capable of having a child as straight couples. the same love and care is there. if not more.
@B24J9PB4mos4MO
LGBT families may affect their children's sexual orientation. There may be more LGBT people in the future. Without people to carry on the family line, there will be a serious population loss.
@B247BW84mos4MO
Because children have a right to family and there is no evidence that gay or lesbian couples are less fit to parent than straight couples.
@B2435VM4mos4MO
1. They do not follow the same religion as you
2. They are just as capable of taking care of a child as you
3. Some bad people doesn't make the whole community bad
4. They aren't 'grooming' the child
@9ZDDB5Y5mos5MO
Anyone should have the right to adopt as long as they clear a decent background check. And are emotionally & financially ready to take on such a roll.
@9ZBK6WY5mos5MO
They need a home, would you rather that they don't have a family dynamic and be stuck in the abhorent foster care system?
@9TMKVZ57mos7MO
People in the LGBT community should have the same adoption rights as heterosexual people as sexual orientation or gender identity should not be the thing affecting the factors on whether someone is fit to adopt a child and care for them.
@9M3SVQ211mos11MO
We are all humans, we thus must all be equal, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race etc. If one person deserves the right to adopt, all people should.
There is nothing wrong with two men, or two women keeping a child safe. Regardless of gender, there will be two loving and capable parents to take care of a child, and that is what matters most.
@9LZM4FT11mos11MO
We are all human beings that should be able to love who we want and raise a loving family if we want. If it weren’t for centuries of religious restraint and limitations, this would not and should not even be a question in 2024.
@9LZGMJQ11mos11MO
what's the difference if a parent or parents are able to help a child that may not be able to be supported in there original home
@9LX8JZW11mos11MO
LGBT Rights ARE Human Rights. Do orphaned children not deserve loving parents, regardless of gender?
These future parents are still people and regardless of their sexuality they should be allowed the same rights at other people
@9LSDZ8Y12mos12MO
that they should be able to because to me it doesnt really change andything since its still a family.
@9LQGWWHNew Democratic12mos12MO
These people are just like anyone else. Loving the people they love and being the most they can for their family. If they prove to be as good parents as anyone else, why should they be denied the opportunity to provide a child with a happy life just because they love each other?
@9LP4QQG12mos12MO
All the arguments against Adoption Rights are counting for couples of all types of relationships. Fundamentally, there are no plausible counter arguments that count for LGBT* people only. Period.
@9LNBK9LNew Democratic12mos12MO
LGBTQ+ people are no different than straight people and their sexual preference has no effect on their parenting abilities
@9L2HYCT1yr1Y
I don't see any reason why people who are apart of the LGBTQ community wouldn't have the right to adopt a child of their own.
@9JYQ4R51yr1Y
All families, no matter who they are composed of should have the right to adopt a child. Raising a child in an LGBT household will not lower their quality of life nor the happiness they have growing up. The beautiful thing about adoption is being able to provide a child with a forever home that can provide them with love and support. Restricting who can and cannot adopt a child is unjust for both the families involved and the children in need of a loving home.
@9JVTX4W1yr1Y
Everyone is human and a person. Gender identification or same sex partners should have a choice and right to raise a family as every human is able too why exclude humans for a personal preference.
Having same sex parents does not affect the child in any mental or physical sense. "New research shows that children adopted into lesbian and gay families are as well-adjusted as children adopted by heterosexual parents, and follow similar patterns of gender development." said Charlotte J. Patterson, PhD, a psychology professor at the University of Virginia. Having same sex parents may provide the child with a more safe and a comfortable life style.
@9HPZTNX1yr1Y
LGBT should have adoption rights, only if they are qualified to and if they meet psychological standards for adoption, as well as a proper home.
@9HDTFWK1yr1Y
The general idea is that a homosexual couple can't provide for a child in the same way a heterosexual couple can.
@9H4Y24R1yr1Y
They are the same people as heterosexual people and should not be restricted on adoption rights. As long as they've proven to be an adequate patient they should have the right.
@9H24J3P1yr1Y
They should be able to adopt children because if they are fit to be a parent they have should the same rights.
a child can be raised by any two parents there is even single parents. Straight couples and same sex couples can have the same capability to raise a good citizen. plus Same sex couples can't have their own biological children easily so adopting may be the only choice.
@9GTKJ4S1yr1Y
Everyone should have an equal opportunity to apply for and prove that they can be good parents to children looking to be adopted. The sexuality of the individuals should have absolutely no part in the decision of allow adults to foster a child. As long and the people looking to adopt will give the child a safe home, and will treat them with kindness and do everything for them that is in the child best interest there is no reason they should not be allowed to adopt that child.
@9GRM2VH1yr1Y
Children need to be loved and cared for. The system is struggling to support children that have been removed from their homes or do not have a home; why would we not support children being accepted into a home where they will be cared for? It would be a bonus to Canada if this alleviated some of the financial pressures as well.
@9GQV9DV1yr1Y
If a couple is willing to take in a homeless child, they should have the protected right to do so, regardless if there are two males, two females or another combination. It should be about finding the child a home, not discrimination.
why would we not support children being accepted into a home where they will be cared for? children need love and care
@B3XLDJ53wks3W
Members of the LBGT community should have the right to adopt a child, and even be prioritized over straight couples since they cannot have a child.
@B3X8TYM3wks3W
Are you SERIOUS?! Two people who love and respect each other, and build a life together and want to share the experience of parenthood together, should be able to adopt, if they are considered safe and competent. There are straight couples that are not good parents. Your gender, sex, and sexual orientation is NOT a factor in quality of parenthood. Children need parents. They need parents who are present, consistent, and loving. That's all.
@9LY3J2311mos11MO
because some people believe that it is stupid the boys like boys or girls like girl. Thinks it is not normal
Why not? what could possibly go wrong if it is two men or two women adopting a child than a man and woman?
@9LQMWC9New Democratic12mos12MO
There is no reason whatsoever that a gay couple would be less suited to take care of a child than a heterosexual couple. In fact, many gay couples may be more equipped because they are far more likely to marry each other and to adopt children out of genuine desire instead of the social pressure that often accompanies straight couples. Any argument to the contrary is homophobia, plain and simple.
@9FR98BT2yrs2Y
being in a same sex relationship does not make a person any less capable of raising a child, severe drug addicts are able to have and raise children, so i simply do not see any issue with a same sex couple having a child.
@9FLHB7G2yrs2Y
people like who they like. a man can like a man and they can adopt because it does not matter if you are gay because gay people have rights to.
@9FL5XNN2yrs2Y
You shouldn't judge people based off of what they like. You should form your opinion on them based off of if they are good people or not.
@9FL54CX2yrs2Y
Why not? if your argument is based on religion, **** you. Not everyone is part of your **** y religion, and you can **** right out of my life. If you say we need a male & female role model, 1st of all, gender queer people exist? Hello? 2nd of all, a child's role models does not stop at their parents, and single parent families also exist.
@9FJSRV92yrs2Y
There is no evidence to say that children of LGBT families are impacted negatively at all by the orientation of their parents.
Adoption is a right, and denying someone the chance to adopt a child in need of a home simply because of their gender identity or sexual orientation is discriminatory.
@9LRR8KT 12mos12MO
How is no even an option here, you gotta be committed to homophobia to say no to that question. Like kids are actively being put in abusive and dangerous households and we’re gonna say no to a loving caring family because they both are… gay?
@9FTWNW62yrs2Y
people in the lgbt are human too so they should be allowed to adopt just like a straight couple can.
@9FLZGNB2yrs2Y
Everyone has the right to be a father or mother no matter their sexuality or gender. Everyone in this world deserves a chance to experience that.
@9FH6KQF2yrs2Y
They have to go through the same system as straight parents who couldn't have kids. To make sure the home is safe.
@9FRVPDR2yrs2Y
LGBT couples are often more mentally stable than straight couples, so a child will be in a safer and more accepting home than a child of a straight couple.
@B43SXTX 2wks2W
The best argument against banning LGBT adoption is that children need loving, stable homes, and the sexual orientation of the parents doesn’t affect their ability to provide that. Studies consistently show that kids raised by LGBT parents do just as well as those raised by heterosexual couples in terms of mental health, education, and overall well-being. With thousands of children in foster care waiting for homes, restricting LGBT adoption only keeps more kids in the system unnecessarily. Good parenting is about love, support, and stability—not gender or sexual orientation. Denyin… Read more

Adults should be able to marry other consenting adults if they choose. If you disagree with it, it's truly none of your business.
@9FGLBV22yrs2Y
It doesn’t matter which gender parents have. It’s only important that they love their children and act like this
@9GB366SConservative1yr1Y
They are still people, just the same gender. That’s like saying that women can’t vote because they’re women. 2 women can’t adopt because they are both women just doesn’t make sense it todays world.
@9G7JLYDConservative1yr1Y
everyone should be allowed the same opportunities for adoption regardless of gender or sexual orientation. LGBT couples are no different than man-woman couples and can provide just as much love and support.
@9FWFJ581yr1Y
hear this, straight people that can make children can adopt I child if that one family cant make a child but a couple that
@9GB39WS1yr1Y
I believe same sex couples should have the same adoption rights as straight relationships. The reason being we are all human, no matter what your preference is partner wise. Someone’s relationship ideals shouldn’t have any affect on if they are fit or not to adopt a child. The argument “but every kid needs a mom/dad in their life!” is invalid; what about the kids who grew up with single parents? They lacked a parental figure and turn out fine, therefore that statement can immediately be proved as false.
@9GLMSKJ1yr1Y
There is literally no evidence what so ever that proves that having two moms or two dads is harmful for children
@9GK4ZTH1yr1Y
A traditional mother and father family has been broken countless times. Especially with single parents
@B4FKXCD24hrs24H
There is an overwhelming number of children in adoption centers and no major study demonstrating any form of harm from same-sex adoptions. The wellness of the child is the primary focus of ANY adoption
@B4F5J94 1 day1D
LGBT couples are just the same as anyone else, therefore I beleive that ALL people including the LGBT cmmunity should be allowed to adopt a child. But must NOT attempt to influence them into the community but follow their own paths in life. Taking away rights for the LGBT community to adopt children takes away opportunities to make new families and new homes for children in need of a better place.
