Why do you or the state get to have a say in who has the right to be a parent? What makes a queer person less qualified than a heterosexual as a parent?

I can argue from a moral stance. There is no difference between a straight individual and an individual in the LGBTQ+ community. What does sexual orientation/gender identity have to do with being a sound hum

I think that having both a father and a mother figure in your life is important, but I don’t think those roles are gender assigned. I think gay parents would be just as good, if not better than straight parents.

what's the difference if a parent or parents are able to help a child that may not be able to be supported in there original home

LGBTQ+ people are no different than straight people and their sexual preference has no effect on their parenting abilities

Children need to be loved and cared for. The system is struggling to support children that have been removed from their homes or do not have a home; why would we not support children being accepted into a home where they will be cared for? It would be a bonus to Canada if this alleviated some of the financial pressures as well.

Members of the LBGT community should have the right to adopt a child, and even be prioritized over straight couples since they cannot have a child.

being in a same sex relationship does not make a person any less capable of raising a child, severe drug addicts are able to have and raise children, so i simply do not see any issue with a same sex couple having a child.

Everyone has the right to be a father or mother no matter their sexuality or gender. Everyone in this world deserves a chance to experience that.

Adults should be able to marry other consenting adults if they choose. If you disagree with it, it's truly none of your business.
