Proponents argue that this strategy would bolster national security by minimizing the risk of potential terrorists entering the country. Enhanced screening processes, once implemented, would provide a more thorough assessment of applicants, reducing the likelihood of malicious actors gaining entry. Critics argue that such a policy might inadvertently promote discrimination by broadly categorizing individuals based on their nation of origin rather than specific, credible threat intelligence. It may strain diplomatic relations with the affected countries and potentially harm the perception of the nation enacting the ban, being seen as hostile or prejudiced towards certain international communities. Additionally, genuine refugees fleeing terrorism or persecution in their home countries might be unjustly denied safe haven.

Refugees should be able to come to our country but be screened thoroughly
@8VVMHGH4yrs4Y
Better screening is required

People should have to undergo psychological testing before becoming a resident in our country not just knowing facts about Canada
No, but screening processes need to be much greater.
No, but all immigrants should be heavily screened, and should have the ability to provide contribution to the country regardless of religion.

I feel that the best case scenario would be to rather A) Construct a mini airport island near the coast of Newfoundland, and then have the immigrants scanned there, and then moved to actual Newfoundland, scanned again, and then moved to the main land. OR B) Have the immigrants land in Newfoundland, scanned, moved to the main land, scanned again, and if all is right, they can move forward to the rest of the country. I believe this would be a lengthy operation, however, it would increase the safety of both Canada and its populous, whilst also protecting the immigrants from a hijacking on the plane, thus leading to another 9/11 scenario.

@9CF8HFN2yrs2Y
I think they should prioritize the ability to screen faster since many immigrants a looking for asylum.

No we shouldn't ban immigrants based on their religion. We should work more diligently to improve screening procedures and provide better assimilation practices.
