Hard question. Profiting off of health care seems wrong, which would be the goal of private practice. However, this may increase competition and overall reduce end user cost.

 @9V9R5P2Conservativefrom Quebec  answered…7mos7MO

I think we should n privatize more healthcare system because lots of Doctors are leaving Canada due less pay by the government

 @9TWK4RLConservativefrom Ontario  answered…7mos7MO

I feel that there should be government funding, but the option to have privatized healthcare as well.

 @9TGBW8CConservativefrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

There should be a balance between private and public healthcare. The health care system should give more autonomy to its doctors.

 @9RVGGSKConservativefrom Saskatchewan  answered…8mos8MO

The government should make sure that Canadians use what ever form of healthcare they feel comfortable using. Make sure that we have a strong public healthcare system and also make sure that private options are available to those who want to use them.

 @9VY5FM6Conservativeanswered…6mos6MO

The system needs an over haul and the gov't should investigate other types of healthcare offered throughout the world and determine what would Canadians benefit from...then allow the people to decide after providing information.

 @9VG7P4VConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…6mos6MO

More into Life saving and less into personal alterations. Example, Epi pens should be covered but medical assisted transitioning should be a personal cost much like a plastic surgeries.

 @9T6MWLTConservativefrom Ontario  answered…7mos7MO

There should always be a a privatized sector in health care, privatized sector will bring out new tech, new medicine. However it should never replace general health care system there is a lot of people in US struggling between different types of health care system.

 @9M6VW3YConservativefrom Prince Edward Island  answered…11mos11MO

There are too many bosses and managers making big salaries to do very little. Start cutting from the top. Take the politicians completely out of health care.

 @9LWTP72Conservative from British Columbia  answered…12mos12MO

The entire healthcare system needs severe reformation. My home town of Prince Rupert has started losing physicians at an alarming rate.

 @9LMT648Conservativefrom Ontario  answered…12mos12MO

The system should reflect Quebec's decision in Chaoulli v Quebec where patients should have the right to seek timely care and use private insurance if their lives depend on it - otherwise the public system should prevail

 @9JQK37WConservativefrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

there should be privatization of somesort, but public healthcare should be the priority. Privatization for people who don't want loing wait times, and public for affordable healthcare.

 @9JL9XYZConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…1yr1Y

I think a cool idea is to combine all medical institutions into one big company that would be a branch of government so the hospitals don’t have to pay tax lowering fees and tax burden. And then any company that over priced their medical services or drugs can be forced to lower prices or be outright confiscated then forcefully lower the price to lower fees then send out the company on the stock market so that something like that can’t happen to the company again. Just an idea I came up with.

 @9HHC8RDConservativefrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

If we lowered taxes by 50% and people got to keep their money, I would say privatize it. But if the government is going to continue to keep the high tax rates AND make us pay for healthcare out of pocket, then no.

 @9G6BWXGConservativefrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

There should be the choice to choose which you want but there should only a certain amount of places open and workers aloud to work there to protect hospitals and emergency rooms

 @9FR2W9PConservativefrom Connecticut  answered…2yrs2Y

It is not necessarily a 'more or less' situation. It is almost entirely driven by invested and special interests. How would ypu propose a conversation related to this without those interests applying the most money and thus the most strident opposition to this undertaking.

 @9F992B4Libertarianfrom Manitoba  answered…2yrs2Y

Mix between both. Private health care for those who can afford to take strain off socialized health care

 @964SF29Conservativefrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

less but public healthcare systems should be improved (i.e more doctors, better services)

 @8YDBV8WConservativefrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8WQV464Conservativefrom Saskatchewan  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8VTH8SDConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

I think that we should create a private option to those who can pay for it, and make it easier for those who can’t in the public system.

 @8VQKZCLConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I beleive that we should have more private options for when you need to take care of something that the current system can't keep up with.

 @8VNYD9DConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Both systems should exist. There should be some private hospitals created beside government ones. Without losing the quality of the government ones.

 @8VN69CCLibertarianfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

We need the baseline medical infrastructure we have, and its a blessing, but we do need to incentivize good doctors to remain in Canada by allowing a private medical industries to grow. I think a two tiered system should exist, for people in urgent need of a health specialist. Universal access has saved more lives, but the wait times are killing people. The reduced cost of perscription drugs due to access to generic brands is amazing though.

 @8VMP336Conservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

More but continue to fund public health and support our health care workers while still allowing for Canadians to seek health care privately and encourage private innovation

 @8VLDTT3Conservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VJBD29Libertarianfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Things like diagnostic imaging review should be privatized more. Comical visits and essential life saving services should always be public

 @8VBRG8WConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Less but if willing to pay for whatever you need to get checked out you can do so.

 @8VB7VJSConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

The government should open specialized hospitals that would operate as private hospitals to see how it would effect the industry before privatization

 @8V97Z9QLibertarianfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Hospitals should not be privatized. although I don't see harm in privatization of other healthcare service

 @8V8H4N3Conservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

current system - with way more funding to bring canada onto the world map of health care and options for private too

 @8V6FCJJConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

More, and privatize the entire operation of the healthcare industry but paid for by gov't

 @8V5HTCYConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

More, giving options for people willing to pay more. Opening up space for public healthcare.

 @8V2QZ84Conservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Allowed for two system to exist if the private system works then it can function on its own with out government funds and must meet or exceed the public systems standards

 @8TYTHJLConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

We should adopt a hybrid private public system. Without reducing the public system we should allow private to supplement where their is demand.

 @8TX4X5TConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

More. The people who have the money to take advantage of it, in theory, should lower the burden on public health. Also it leave an option for people who are in dire need of surgery

 @8TW3Y8YConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

End medical tourism. Less middle men and no prioritizing foreigners over Canadians for med care.

 @8TVGHFLConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

There should be the option for those that wish to pay for more private healthcare to do so.

 @8TR3RKRConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

More, but the current public and private option’s access and availability should be expanded.

 @8T48MSHConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

There should be an option for both privatized, but government funded should remain the primary source of healthcare.

 @8S8T75KConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

The current health system is good but would be better if you could get examined faster.

 @8S7C3N6Conservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Canadians should have the option of privatized Healthcare if they choose, but public Healthcare should still remain avaliable to those who can't afford private.

 @8S4WJ38Conservativefrom Manitoba  answered…4yrs4Y

More, But only for serious conditions and injuries. Smaller conditions and injuries should be subsidized to a lesser degree

 @8RCDY7VConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8QRW5Q2Conservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8QQZPGVConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

There should be less privatization as it is a basic human right to healthcare, and with privatization of healthcare services, there are fewer people able to afford their basic human necessities.

 @8Q6PG47Libertarianfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

free healthcare is good for everyone. problem Is the healthcare will not be as good if we don't privatize it

There shouldn’t be any because companies only care about money, they would be corrupt.

 @8C7WPDYLibertarianfrom Ontario  answered…5yrs5Y

More, but rather than decreasing the current amount of public health care services, you keep it the same and increase the number or private healthcare services for those that have the resources to bypass the majority population (this would reduce wait times for both parties and allow the possibility of advanced and urgent healthcare for those that have the funds)

 @9B9YJHCConservativefrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

More, I believe that the best scenario would be to have public healthcare as we do now, with the addition of private services for those that want to pay for better and faster service

 @9955BP8Conservativefrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Less, there should be more expert advisors to reduce redundancies and unwise healthcare decisions

 @98G2P2ZConservativefrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

less, too much money is spent on administration and very little is making it down to the public.

 @94BCJHRConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8Q2GZNDConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Essential Medical care should be government-funded, but non-essential medical care should not

 @8PQMTNVLibertarianfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Government healthcare should exist and there should also be a private system for those who wish to pay for it.

 @92SBLVXConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

People should be able to spend their own money on health services if they choose, they can do the same with almost anything else.
