Should the government increase or decrease the amount of temporary foreign workers allowed into Canada?

Foreign temporary workers should be managed based on the current economic and employment environment and increase or decrease based on the ability to fill jobs with qualified Canadians.

Decrease the minimum wage and remove some social programs to incentivise unemployed Canadians to fill these roles; alternatively subsidize automation in these industries to replace the labour.

Maintain as much as possible while still directing said workers to industries with a shortage of Canadian workers

Increase, but only for industries with critical shortages of workers (such as the healthcare system)

Probably keep it the same, maybe increase it but only slightly. I also think work Visa programs should be more common and replace some of the temporary foreign worker program

No, but increase regulations on the businesses that hire temporary workers to insure wages are not depressed and temporary workers receive adequate wages.

They shouldn't bother creating temporary work visas. It's either they are a citizen or not a citizen, because that most workers goals anyways in this program.

Temporary foreign workers should only be used for industries with a shortage of Canadian workers. However, these industries should gain promotion within the country to encourage more Canadian citizens to get involved in these industries. As always, when temporary foreign workers are brought in to work, they deserve the same wage and rights, and conditions while they're working as a Canadian citizen would receive. Their work and time needs to be valued.

Canadian workers in industries such as farms could fill the jobs that are currently available in Canada on a larger business. Greed should not be incentivized, plenty of young people could use these opportunities as stepping stones into the work place that are Canadian citizens.

Make the system fairer and less arbitrary. It is a disaster now and Service Canada needs to be more accountable and reasonable. It is better to have temporary foreign workers come here to work and then give the successful ones a chance at permanent residence than to try to assess skilled workers who haven't even been to Canada yet. The Canada Experience Class was a good program. Now it is being mutilated and changed to make it less appealing to foreign students. Foreign students are good for the economy and immigration program. Students who learn here and then work here will make the best immigrants. At eth same time, we benefit economically from their spending while here.
