Should the government forgive up to $20,000 of student loan debt?

Jagmeet Singh, leader of the NPD party, proposes forgiving up to $20,000 of student loan debt and doubling student grants, as well as giving new graduates a five-year grace period for federal loan payments. I feel like students are here to receive an education. The 20K should be subsidized to the students instead of loans.

I think the government should forgive student loans and/or pay for the eduction for fields that are needed, nurses, teachers, and have them sign contract to work in a jurisdiction for a length of time

yes but on a situation to situation basis and if the student has potential to pay it off in the future u can lower interest rates
