Should the government increase or decrease the amount of temporary foreign workers allowed into Canada?

Let's use common sense here, who is out of work? Have they been here longer than the guy that has the current job? Then take him out and put the guy who was in this country the longest in that place, A) he's done more for the country B) we need to start worrying more about the people we have in this country than the ones from other countries.

Take on the platform that Australia has for their working holiday visa - where if you want to stay longer you have to do specific jobs ie: farm work, construction etc. Jobs that need filling, not jobs that Canadians want to have.

Regardless, more steps should be taken against companies exploiting temporary foreign workers. Employers using this type of visa frequently abuse immigrant employees.

Before increasing or decreasing the amount of temporary foreign workers, the government should enact policies to ensure fair treatment and compensation for workers and prohibit exploitation.

Replace temporary foreign workers with work VISA program. But work towards less reliance on foreign workers by training/preparing/utilizing Canadian citizens to fill these jobs.

Increase TFWs in sectors with proven labor shortages (e.g., healthcare, skilled trades, agriculture) while ensuring Canadians get priority in other fields.

Improve pathways to permanent residency so TFWs can become long-term contributors to the economy.

Strengthen labor protections to prevent exploitation and ensure fair wages.

Encourage domestic worker training & fair wages so employers don’t rely solely on TFWs instead of improving conditions for Canadian workers.

Foreign temporary workers should be managed based on the current economic and employment environment and increase or decrease based on the ability to fill jobs with qualified Canadians.
