that women should have the right to do what they want with their bodies because it's their bodies and it effects them

 @9GWF8MHfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

The same people who will complain about people having an abortion will complain that said person cannot support their child. If someone does not feel ready to have a child they shouldn't have to have one. Birth control isn't 100% effective.

 @9G8FYGHLiberalfrom British Columbia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

if its not your body you dont have a right to tell someone what to do with theirs: my body my choice

 @9G8H2KHfrom British Columbia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Just like the government and individuals have no right to limit people’s religious choices they should also not be allowed to limit a woman’s right to choose.

 @B4LXJVMfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1wk1W

There shouldn’t have to be a debate on what a human being can do with their own body. Health, wealth, age and relationship status shouldn’t matter and shouldn’t have to be a factor in the process of deciding whether a person should be eligible for an abortion. A person should be have free access to abortion and other prenatal and pregnancy healthcare.

 @B4JQHLSfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1wk1W

No one is forcing you to have an abortion. If you're pro life, simply don't access this resource. Simple.

 @B44Y3CYfrom British Columbia  disagreed…4wks4W

It’s someone else’s body: you have no right to tell them what to do with it: also an abortion is only getting rid of cells: until a “baby” is birthed and can breathe on its own, it is not a person. It is simply a parasite living solely off of someone else.

 @B3X8TYMfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1mo1MO

Abortion is not a topic of public and political discussion, as it is considered healthcare and a personal issue, that should be maintained between the parties directly involved (the mother, the father, and the healthcare provider, solely). Religious debates have no place in political discussions, as no one should be forced to live by religious rules that they do not believe in.

 @B3RVLY3from British Columbia  disagreed…1mo1MO

Forcing a victim to birth a child stemming from sexual assault ruins both their lives. If the rapist refuses to take care of the child, a single, low-income, or teen mother is reasonable in her decision not to inflict a difficult life upon a child. Additionally, in the face of sexual assault, a person being forced to birth a child resulting from that, is more likely to cause depression and low self-worth in the child and parent.

 @B34YS7Dfrom British Columbia  disagreed…2mos2MO

It is our life and if it is medically dangerous or you are going to bring a child into a life where it will be a poor quality of life there is no point if they may end up in bad situations.

 @B2L4XDNNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  disagreed…3mos3MO

No person should have control over women’s bodily autonomy. There’s enough kids in homes where parents don’t want them. Kids deserve to be born to parents who want them, not who are forced to have them.

 @B2KZMWYfrom British Columbia  disagreed…3mos3MO

Being Pro-choice is pro-life. You are focusing on the life of the woman and not a clump of cells if you are pro-choice. You have every right to be pro-life, but that doesn’t mean you have to take away access to abortions for everyone else. It is healthcare. Not murder. One can argue that pro-lifers are murderers, because preventing a woman with an ectopic pregnancy from getting an abortion can lead to death of her and the baby (if I’m not mistaken). If you are pro-life, are you ready to help that mother raise the child and pay for some of the expenses? What if she was assaulted?…  Read more

 @B2GHJVJConservativefrom British Columbia  disagreed…3mos3MO

You're letting the government take away a person's right to choose, which opens up more opportunity for the government to control us, and lose more freedoms.

 @9ZPGS5HLiberalfrom British Columbia  disagreed…5mos5MO

Banning abortion takes away a person’s right to make choices about their own body and can lead to unsafe procedures. Everyone deserves safe healthcare options.

 @9SXKSGMNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  disagreed…8mos8MO

No one besides the mother and father of the child should have any choice in whether they keep the child or not.

 @9M6RXV3from British Columbia  disagreed…12mos12MO

The fetus lives inside and is fed off of the resources of the person that they are inside. So the person should be the only one choosing as to whether they should get an abortion or not.

 @9LZGMJQfrom British Columbia  disagreed…12mos12MO

why should someone keep a human in there body possibly when they are threating there own life or it was rape.

 @9LW2W5Vfrom British Columbia  disagreed…12mos12MO

Life begins when a baby can sustain themselves outside their mothers body (breathing & bodily functions).

 @9LQGWWHNew Democraticfrom British Columbia  disagreed…12mos12MO

Every person should get to choose what they do to their body. They could either bring a human into the world who they will feel great guilt for as they never wanted them, or they can have an abortion what that baby is no more than cells. When they cannot feel pain, and save that child from living a life knowing that their parent didn't want them.

 @9LMGR55from British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

Abortions will continue to happen regardless of legality. Pro-choice does not mean “pro-abortion”, it means being in favour of safe, accessible methods of pregnancy-related healthcare.

 @9LJFXRFfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

I can see why people are pro-life no doubt, you are talking about the life of an innocent human being potentially ending before it even sees the light of day but I am pro-choice because it is also a fetus we are talking about, nothing remotely close to killing a child/teenager/adult and unfortunately women still get raped and are forced to have these kids who will remind them every single day of the rape and if they are also living in poverty than it can be way to much to handle being forced to have this child in which 1. the women did not want and 2. won't be able to even care for the child and they will be stuck living in terrible conditions and most cases be put up for adoption. PRO CHOICE GANG FTW LFG ATW

 @9L87JJ2from British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

There are people highly unfit or forced into becoming pregnant through things such as rape… a young woman undergoing such a traumatic event should have the choice on whether or not to proceed with the pregnancy due to the mental distress it may cause during and post.

 @9JY922Sfrom British Columbia  agreed…1yr1Y

Most abortions happen because parents don’t want to take responsibility for their actions so they take the easy way out. Most pro choice scream that rape and the death of the parent are the reasons for abortion but they are very rare cases

 @9GR4LQGfrom British Columbia  agreed…1yr1Y

it is only a small percentage of people who have received abortions that were raped or knew the baby would have birth defects.

 @9FKYD24from British Columbia  agreed…2yrs2Y

60 million future Americans and Canadians were slain through chemical means. It is damaging the economy and well being of the nation.

Everyone has the right to bodily autonomy, if a person is not able to carry out a pregnancy for any reason they should not be forced to

 @B4KJ2ZRfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1wk1W

if some one was raped or has health issues that prevent them from continuing with a pregnancy they should have a say in what happens to their body. Women should have a say in what happens to their body period. No other person should be able to tell them what they can & cannot do.

 @B32QSSGfrom British Columbia  agreed…2mos2MO

There are lots of people in the world with special needs proving the parents of these people decided not to kill them.

 @B2PMF8Cfrom British Columbia  disagreed…3mos3MO

Why would you let a young woman’s life be ruined and her future goals and dreams be traded for a non sentient fertilized egg that resulted from careless sexual behaviour

 @B2QTYRXfrom British Columbia  disagreed…3mos3MO

If the mom can't provide the child with enough support, it will die anyway. Plus it isn't actually a baby yet. Plus the mom and baby could die in labor.

 @B2JG859from British Columbia  disagreed…3mos3MO

They care they show for their “lives” seems to ends at birth. When these children become another child raised in poverty it’s a burden on society they complain about.

 @9FS5D38Liberalfrom British Columbia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Women should have the freedom of making their own personal decisions.The government shouldn't get to make those types of decisions.

 @9FGTV2Mfrom British Columbia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

regardless of rape, incest or hot button issues abortion is health care for women in the current geo-political landscape. No one can afford to live let alone a house. The argument that adoption or any event that causes a women to carry a child to term when they are unable to financially able to support the child is cruel. How will they afford to live? How will they afford to take time off of work? How will their body recover? None of these questions are asked of their male counter parts that will show up either once a week or when the child is 18 and no longer able to seek child support.
The task that is required of women according to a conservative stand point is unfair. Hands off our kids.

 @B3NGFRHLiberal from British Columbia  disagreed…1mo1MO

Pro lifers only care about the birth when a fetus is a fetus, but after birth, pro lifers fail to consider what happens to the child as it grows older as an unwanted child will most likely end up in the foster system which is already overcrowded and from 2022 to 2023 only 16% of children found permanent adoptive families. If a family is not ready to have a kid why should the mom be subjected to a painful birth to then give up the child and burden the child with living in the foster system? An early abortion does not “kill a baby”, it is simply allowing a mother to choose whether she is emotionally, mentally, physically and financially ready to raise a human being or not for the rest of her life.

 @B2RGXNC from British Columbia  disagreed…2mos2MO

You can believe life begins at conception, but a fetus should not have more rights to someone's body than anyone else.

 @9ZCYKDB from British Columbia  disagreed…5mos5MO

It’s 2024, there’s many accessible resources out there. We need to focus on prevention not abortion. We need to educate girls about their cycles, create better values for both young males and females, promote more of a healthy family structure.

Make IUDs, birth control, condoms affordable or even free for minors. Also if abortion is an option it should not be at the expense of the tax payer it should be a privatized cost.

Also anyone who wants to one needs extreme professional counselling (to determine if this is really their choice) and they should have to be educated on how the abortion is done and what exactly they do to the fetus (Ie. Is the fetus alive while it’s body parts are being ripped apart taken out of the womb piece by piece?).

 @9H2QR6Yfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

An embryo is not sentient or feeling, it will experience no pain. Though it does have the potential to become an individual, the pregnant persons wishes override the survival of the child because they are already a thinking feeling person and can be harmed in the moment. This is especially true for rape and underage pregnancies.

 @9H2G3TKfrom British Columbia  disagreed…1yr1Y

Abortion should be allowed, women should have a choice of their bodies. Pregnancy can be complicated and some women don't want to be pregnant.

 @9FWGQYBfrom British Columbia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

If you don’t like abortions don’t get one but if someone who needs one say a pregnant teen or someone even younger needs one otherwise they may not survive then don’t prevent them from getting them

 @B4PDHL4from British Columbia  disagreed…3 days3D

Women are the reason people are even created. we should be able to establish what we want to do with our bodies.
