A woman has the right to choose what she wants to do with her body. There shouldn't have to be a counterargument because this topic should not be debated. Any reason that a woman does not want to have a child is a valid reason. People who use the excuse of adoption being an option don't understand that many pregnancies are complicated and some women just don't want to be pregnant, and that is COMPLETELY FINE!
@9GRYFMC1yr1Y
I agree. It's their right. If you don't want the pregnancy, just get rid of it. It's not like making abortions illegal will stop people from trying.
If it is not your body you should not have the chocie on what they should do with theirs. Many people that do get pregnant are not capable or in the position to take care of a child. Rape victims should not have to go through with something so traumatic and life threatning. In some cases the mother and the baby will die if they are not aborted. With in the first weeks of a mother being pregnant the "baby"is a bunch of cells forming, it is not a human life yet.
Abortion should be a decision made by the woman for her own body, so that there is not a risk for infections from the baby if it is deceased, etc., and women shouldn't be forced to go through with the pregnancy. It is not a choice of someone in the office across the country, and should be solely made by the person that is directly affected.
A women should have control over her own body and be able to decide what is best considering her own circumstances. The law should not dictate her life for her.
@9GBCTKSNew Democratic2yrs2Y
It should be the mothers choice on if they want to get an abortion or not, because someone could get pregnant and it could be from the result of rape, or something out of their control. I don't think abortion is murder because you'd just be aborting a clump of cells and not an actual human.
@9FWJBMSNew Democratic2yrs2Y
It is important to consider the wishes of the person who is having the baby. It is not appropriate for someone else to make decisions on their behalf.
@9FY2MJHNew Democratic2yrs2Y
Every person should have autonomy over their own body and a right to choose as their choice affects the entirely of their life. They also could have conceived under traumatic circumstances such as sexual assault and should not be forced to go through with such a pregnancy.
@B45VWTZNew Democratic4wks4W
That there are already so many children in orphanages that do not have a home , so forcing someone to go through with a pregnancy because “they can always just give it up for adoption” is not a valid enough answer. More children do not need to be with out a family.
@B3HH8LVNew Democratic2mos2MO
A woman should not be required to support a life using her own blood, energy, and resources if she does not fully consent to and want it. Forcing a woman to carry a pregnancy to term is torture and creates a society where women become second-class citizens with an inability to have a say over their own bodies on account of the GOVERNMENT's decree.
@B3G2636New Democratic2mos2MO
Women should always have the right to choose. If banned, people will look for alternative and less safe options. Also, we don’t know everyone’s situation on how the got pregnant or whether they are fit to be a parent which is unfair to a child.
@B37MFF7New Democratic2mos2MO
Women should have the right to choose what to do with their own body. Rape and unwanted pregnancy happens so much more than people think and women should be able to have a choice.
@B2W67C4New Democratic2mos2MO
A woman should always have the right to choose what to do with her own body. Government intervention into decisions of that nature is inappropriate and overreaching, and just as the government has no place in the nation's bedrooms, it has no place in the nation's hospital examination rooms and medical clinics. Especially in instances where sex was forced onto the woman in question such as rape or incest, she should not have to suffer for the decisions of another person.
@B2MBKBGNew Democratic3mos3MO
Most sexual abuse victims are women, the only gender that can give birth. Why should they be more susceptible to caring for a child compared to men?
@B2L4XDNNew Democratic3mos3MO
No person should have control over women’s bodily autonomy. There’s enough kids in homes where parents don’t want them. Kids deserve to be born to parents who want them, not who are forced to have them.
@B2D3H25New Democratic3mos3MO
Women should be able to choose what they want to do with THEIR body. No one should have an opinion on a body other than their own. If you want to get an abortion, get one. If you don't, then don't. Simple.
@B2CSYKCNew Democratic3mos3MO
If a fetus is a baby then the father should start paying child support as soon as the pregnancy is confirmed. If a fetus is a baby then it should be insured by the family’s health insurance had soon as the pregnancy is confirmed. If you value a fetus more than the life and wellbeing of a pregnant person so much you want to take away their right to bodily autonomy, than you need to know that by definition a fetus is a parasite and it will do anything to survive, and sometimes the pregnant individual will not survive pregnancy. Also the right to abortion does not take away your right to not have an abortion.
@B29GNSLNew Democratic3mos3MO
Most pro-life positions care about the birth and little to nothing afterwards: if a mother knows that they will not be able to give a child a good life, forcing them into a bad position helps nobody.
@9ZN6CZ4New Democratic5mos5MO
Many Pro-life defenders say their thinking about the children, but if they were actually thinking about they kids they would support the right to an abortion. If a woman gets pregnant and doesn't want the baby, but has it anyway, then the child will be unwanted. The child would be a burden to the woman, therefore would not have a caring and loving childhood and upbringing. No child deserves that. On another hand, in cases of rape and incest it would also deal great damage to both the woman/girl having the baby and the baby itself. The child will always be that burden and reminder to them… Read more

A fetus is not yet viable for life. Abortion can save a woman's life, especially in the cases where she could die from a pregnancy.
@9SXKSGMNew Democratic8mos8MO
No one besides the mother and father of the child should have any choice in whether they keep the child or not.
@9NHNVZTNew Democratic11mos11MO
People have the right to make choices on their own bodies. Lets say you get raped at a young age, you are living under your parents supervision and still in school trying to get an education. Being forced to have your rapists child would go against your human rights and the child would live a hard life due to the fact you do not have the necessities to support that child.
@9MFXFRXNew Democratic11mos11MO
The right for Abortion should be prioritized by women. For example, some who has been raped might not want to have their babies. Even though they were born, their mothers might don't like them because they were not planned in advance and they didn't want to have their kids with someone who attacked themselves.
Eventually, they have to cope with these problems by themselves and nobody will care fore them.
It could lead to serious situation at the end.
@9M5BL7ZNew Democratic12mos12MO
I don't care about the bible, women will continue to have abortions they just won't be safe. Banning abortions will result in more women being victims of domestic abuse and murder by their partners.
@9LQMWC9New Democratic12mos12MO
To prioritize an outsider's vague moral scruples over any individual's bodily autonomy sets a terrifying legal precedent. It's very easy to dismiss issues like this until it is your body that's being violated. Which, if the right to abortion was taken away, it soon very well may be. You may disagree with what individuals decide to do with their bodies, but that decision is not and absolutely should never be anyone's decision except their own.
@9LQGWWHNew Democratic12mos12MO
Every person should get to choose what they do to their body. They could either bring a human into the world who they will feel great guilt for as they never wanted them, or they can have an abortion what that baby is no more than cells. When they cannot feel pain, and save that child from living a life knowing that their parent didn't want them.
@9LNBK9LNew Democratic12mos12MO
People have the right to choose for their own bodies and there are many circumstances where abortion is necessary
Criminalization of abortions is fatal, and hurts more fetus’ in the long run that have fatal fetal disorders. It’s necessary to women’s health as well as many pregnancies can kill women and many result from traumatizing events.
@9JM795ZNew Democratic 1yr1Y
People are diverse. Everyone is going to have different opinions and beliefs. Not one group should have the control over what women or a person who is able to give birth, can do with their body. It is a complete violation of human rights. It is comparable to rape. It is also extremely dangerous to remove this specific access to healthcare for people who can give birth. If a child or adult is raped and ends up pregnant, they shouldn't be forced to give birth. Sometimes there are medical reasons why an abortion would needed. Regardless, it is that person's right to choose. Who is goin… Read more
Using the pro-life augment that would mean every time a women is on her period she is killing a fetuses because, "why wouldn't she try and get pregnant to "SAVE" her "Baby". That sounds ridicules right? well what sounds even more far fetched, is that a fetus can even be identified as a baby. there are so many reasons why pro life will never make sense. and most pro life believers, are either men (who don't understand the pain of being pregnant) or are driven by religion. And religion has little to no room in politics.
Many of the people who need abortion cannot afford to have another child because many are often young or in poverty, so it would cause a burden on them to take care of a child in such bad conditions, especially if there is more. While I hope all children can live their best life, if they grow up in that position, it can lead to them resorting to violence and theft, as well as other criminal acts, and we all want our kids to grow up to be great people and live great lives, but I the environment is actively dangerous to them, I think it’s best for the mother to have it a different time… Read more

There are people going through the worst possible scenarios and not being able to take of a child. Abortion is sometimes the only option one has.
@B3TLJYY1mo1MO
Its a woman choice. If young girls are being raped they should't be punished for that. They shouldn't be considered a human yet.
@B3FW7LCNew Democratic2mos2MO
abortion is important when it comes to women if they become pregnant from rape or if theres something wrong with the baby
@B3CH8Y7New Democratic 2mos2MO
People should have the right to do what they want with their body. No matter if you believe it is moral or not
Not all abortions are abortions. There are multiple procedures that are labeled abortions that are not actually abortions. They are called that because the procedure is the same but there is no embryo to get rid of. by denying abortions you are denying life saving procedures for people in need.
if the barer of your child is not yet ready to have a baby why pressure them into it? if someone was raped do they still have to go through with having a baby?
If the person is going to die, should that person die for their child? And what if both of them are supposed to die?
@9G5FRVPNew Democratic2yrs2Y
Pro-Lifers do not actually value the lives of everyone. Without access to safe abortion options many more women and babies will die.
