Women should be allowed to choose what they do with their bodies, no body should be making the decision for them.

 @9GG2R56Liberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Forcing women to have a baby when they are either too young or they could die is awful. People have the right to health care and to make decisions about their own bodies.

 @B4KG5KGLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…1wk1W

The woman has to carry the baby, and the effects of pregnancy are long lasting. Especially in cases when the baby is conceived without consent, abortion should be a ready option.

 @9LTD7YXLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…12mos12MO

Telling women what they have to do with their bodies is absolutely ridiculous. Your body, your choice!

 @9LTPJYJfrom Washington  disagreed…12mos12MO

Does the baby get a choice for HIS body? Does he get a say, before they either starve him to death via the cursed abortion pill, or tear him limb from limb and crush his skull?

 @9G8FYGHLiberalfrom British Columbia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

if its not your body you dont have a right to tell someone what to do with theirs: my body my choice

 @9GCRFFJLiberalfrom Nova Scotia  disagreed…1yr1Y

If you propagate rights for the unborn, you should equally propagate for the living, meaning you cannot be homophobic and transphobic and pro-life

 @B4KSLKNLiberalfrom Manitoba  disagreed…1wk1W

If a fetus is not viable and requires its mother for sustainability, the mother’s bodily autonomy is priority. Women are the only ones who should make decisions regarding their own body (and life!) and government interference is abhorrent.

 @B4JRJZNLiberalfrom Manitoba  disagreed…1wk1W

the fundamental flaw in the pro-life position is that it prioritizes a potential life over the autonomy and rights of a fully developed human being. no-one- no government, no court, no religious doctrine- should ever have the power to force someone to use their body against their will, even to sustain life. we don’t compel people to donate organs or blood, even if doing so could save lives, because bodily autonomy is a basic human right. when we talk about abortion, we’re not debating the morality of life in the abstract. we’re debating whether a person should be legally req…  Read more

a women should have the right to choose what she does with her own body. it’s no one else’s business but her own what she does with it.

 @B3Z9YNYLiberalfrom Quebec  disagreed…1mo1MO

Motivated reasoning by religious fundamentalists and rethorics that should not have any weight to a modern and civil human future.

 @B3PDL2GLiberalfrom Alberta  disagreed…1mo1MO

Since a large majority of those saying pro life are affiliated with religion, predominantly Christian, I would say that you’ve read your bible wrong and you are twisting the words of your sacred book to match your agenda.

 @B38NB7TLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…2mos2MO

That individuals have the right to their own bodily autonomy and dead bodies currently have more rights in that regard than women and birthing people.

 @B2LG3GPLiberalfrom Alberta  disagreed…3mos3MO

if you think a clump of cells is worth saving over someone being allowed to choose what they want to do with their body then you are not really caring about the people or their health

 @B2HKLKFLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…3mos3MO

Forcing a woman to have a child she doesn't want or is unprepared for is problematic not just for them two, but for the system as well.

 @B2DKP7FLiberalfrom Alberta  disagreed…3mos3MO

Fetuses don’t gain sentience until around 30-35 weeks, meaning they can’t feel pain like humans do (therefore, abortion isn’t cruel). Also, if a woman has a medical emergency and requires an abortion to preserve her own life, being denied that would kill not only her, but her child, too (so it’s not really “pro-life”).

 @B2CQVMHLiberalfrom Quebec  disagreed…3mos3MO

If I was in kidney failure, no one could legally force my mother to give me her organ, alive or dead

 @B2B6QCKLiberalfrom Nova Scotia  disagreed…3mos3MO

If your 7 year old daughter was raped and got pregnant, would you want her to go through with the pregnancy?

 @B22TTV7from Indiana  disagreed…4mos4MO

People should make their own decisions on whether they want to have an abortion. The government shouldn't make the choice and force it on people.

 @9ZTWY99Liberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…5mos5MO

My body, my choice. If a female who gets pregnant by choice or not, a logical reason or the thought of abortion should be supported becuase that female doesn't want that child for a particular reason, becuase no way does a female want to willingly murder a child for fun.

 @9ZPXQCSLiberalfrom Quebec  disagreed…5mos5MO

Not your body, not your decision.
If you're so pro-life, go and adopt a few children who are currently in the foster care system!

 @9ZPGS5HLiberalfrom British Columbia  disagreed…5mos5MO

Banning abortion takes away a person’s right to make choices about their own body and can lead to unsafe procedures. Everyone deserves safe healthcare options.

 @9N295DFLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…11mos11MO

I am the opposite with pro-life, I am pro-choice, I think men should leave women the hell alone, it's not a mans decision to keep the baby, it's the women choice the one is is actually growing the baby, not the man who had sex with her.

 @9M2BGNPLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…12mos12MO

People should be able to choose what to do with their bodies, including the choice to keep, abort, put up for adoption, or provide surrogacy. The pregnancy could come from a bad experience or a rape, in which the person could not be able to give birth safely because of age or just general un-safeness of the pregnancy.

 @9LVT74SLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…12mos12MO

My body my choice, if a guy can get a woman pregnant and then leave, there is no reason why she should have the responsibility to do everything alone

 @9LTCRZHLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…12mos12MO

their body, their choice. pro-lifers don't care about the baby after they are born. The fetus can't miss out on what it hasn't expierienced yet.

 @9LNJ8X3Liberalfrom Ontario  agreed…12mos12MO

Pro-life should be the stance everyone has on abortion because God gives you the miracle of a child and you throw it away.

 @9KP3H5JLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Your body is your choice, do not act like you can make decisions on someone else's life until you have walked in their shoes.

 @9KB8TVNLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

All women should have the right to do what they choose with their own bodies, it is not up to the government to decide that.

 @9J4PB2TLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

I believe there is no counterargument for this topic. Women have the right to do what they want with their body especially as they are the ones to carry child. Male government figures choosing what women can do to their bodies does not make sense. They don't know what it is like to even have a women's body, who's to say they can make decisions for them.

 @9HXKPZ3Liberalfrom Nova Scotia  disagreed…1yr1Y

what about all the kids being put in foster care only to be abused or killed, because an unfit parent was forced to have that baby and give it away.

 @9HDVS78Liberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

If the fetus is not yet developed, the women should have the choice to abort it, as it is not yet a life.

 @9HBK2GTLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

women should have the right over their own bodies, if not even women, young girls, rape is an issue and your telling me a child should be forced to raise a child? It's wrong.

 @B43HK4PLiberalfrom Alberta  disagreed…4wks4W

Fetus are not humanoids. The woman giving birth should have all the control in determining what is best for her body.

 @9M762FBLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…12mos12MO

your really gonna take a service away that saves lives? you know how common it is for native women and children to get raped? why would you force someone to have a baby if the parent knows that they cant give that baby a good life. especially in Canada where the foster system is such a **** show you have teenagers getting arrested and taken away for constantly running away.

 @9LRC8X3Liberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…12mos12MO

The argument for Pro-life does not take into account that the soon to be mother of the fetus is already a living breathing person. As the child could be born into unfortunate circumstances and suffer due to the lack of preparation necessary to welcome a child into the world.

 @B3KMRSNLiberalfrom California  disagreed…2mos2MO

The woman is the one going through the possibly life threatening process of giving birth if you restrict abortion, not the old white men in the government. It's the woman's bodies. Also making abortions illegal doesn't stop abortions it just makes them more dangerous cause people have to use unconventional means.

 @9FS5D38Liberalfrom British Columbia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Women should have the freedom of making their own personal decisions.The government shouldn't get to make those types of decisions.

 @9H5H43QLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

Pregnant people have the right to make their own decisions about their bodies. In many cases an abortion is the best option. The government should not infringe on people's rights.

 @B3NGFRHLiberal from British Columbia  disagreed…1mo1MO

Pro lifers only care about the birth when a fetus is a fetus, but after birth, pro lifers fail to consider what happens to the child as it grows older as an unwanted child will most likely end up in the foster system which is already overcrowded and from 2022 to 2023 only 16% of children found permanent adoptive families. If a family is not ready to have a kid why should the mom be subjected to a painful birth to then give up the child and burden the child with living in the foster system? An early abortion does not “kill a baby”, it is simply allowing a mother to choose whether she is emotionally, mentally, physically and financially ready to raise a human being or not for the rest of her life.

 @9YNMLHYLiberal from Manitoba  disagreed…5mos5MO

Woman should be able to decide whether or not they want to have a child. Reality is- having a child is a life changing decision and many are in a situation where they cannot realistically take care of one. It’s better for the parent (s) to be well prepared and ready for a child. Woman should have a say in what they do, we should not force anyone to be a parent if they’re not ready yet.

 @9LY2YH7Liberal from Alberta  disagreed…12mos12MO

I think that it’s my body, and it should be my choice what I do with the child. Some victims of sexual assault and rape may not want to keep the baby if they have been impregnated.

 @9FTQ995Liberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Personally as a woman, Pro-life is a stupid religous beleif that should never be an option. saying stuff like "god will never forgive you if you kill a baby" does not help. young women who could literally be only 10 can get raped and your saying you WANT them to have that baby when uit could litterally kill them to have it. i think that it is just ridiculous i mean seriously, It's going to be religous people making this decsicion and mostly men aswell. So that would mean that a man could tell me a woman what im supposed to do with my body. Pro-life being a choice is a terrible decision i don't care if it's part of your religon, no one should be forced to birth a child especially if they have been raped and traumatized.

 @9H38XCCLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

If abortions are banned, more people will die. Raped children will die during birth, killing both the child and the baby you wanted to "save". If a child doesn't die during birth, they will not be able to support this baby. If an adult that can't support a child is forced to give birth, the baby will die. If abortions are banned, more than just unborn infants will be killed.

 @9H2HBDGLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…1yr1Y

A women should have the right to choose if she wants to put her own body through a 9 month pregnancy and continue with giving birth to a human being. If the woman decides she does not want to, people should respect that as it doesn't physically affect anyone other than the mother. Nobody else has the right to decide if or if not someone should have to put themselves through the difficult experience of motherhood.

 @9G4ZDDCLiberalfrom Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

If a woman, or under-age female is raped... she should be able to make the choice to keep or to not keep the kid, I know it is a popular saying but I agree with "Her body, Her Choice"

 @B4PM3WBLiberal from Ontario  disagreed…3 days3D

The main argument against being pro-life is that making someone continue a pregnancy when they don’t want to goes against their right to control their own body. While some people think a fetus is important, that doesn’t take away the rights of the person who is already alive and able to make choices about their own life. Also, making abortion illegal or very hard to access doesn’t stop it from happening. It just makes them more dangerous, especially for people who can’t get safe medical help, which mainly affects those with low income and those who are often treated unfairly.
