In 2010 the Conservative government introduced a crime bill which would kill the so-called faint hope clause that allows some people serving life sentences to apply for parole after 15 years (instead of the usual 25 common for first-degree murder and other life sentence convictions). Opponents of the crime bill argue that extended prison sentences are cruel and will cost the government tens of millions of dollars per year.Proponents argue that 15 years is too short of a prison term for people serving life sentences.

I think if they show no threats and are sorry for what they did and can be helped with a service like counseling everything 2 days a week and still being Monterey for awhile until proven nothing is bad that they've done

It depends on the case for their murder. In an act of self defense they should be eligible, for ill intent they should not be allowed
Yes, but we should provide more rehabilitation programs and provide a strict psychological evaluation.

I say 10 years because I say after doing the same thing for that long they probably regret what they did. There still should be a phycological evaluation though.

Prison funding should go towards converting prisons into enforcing more rehabilitation processes and screening to ensure that the people in the prisons have a chance at being rehabilitated and re-entered into society. Otherwise if they have no chance at rehabilitation, there is no reason to keep them inprisoned and using resources and a cell.

Circumstantial, hold a trial/evaluation on less heinous/premeditated crimes after 15 years. Provide reintegration support for prisoners.
