Send supplies rather than funds and give to the organizations that help the community rather than the govt. Help more innocent victims.
Give them enough that they can stand on there own, so you help them out a bit but not to much where you are sacrificing your own country massively, so you can also have allies and not be by yourself.
@B2BNJSD3mos3MO
Send supplies rather funding's, and only send them in circumstances such as natural disasters and to countries that are not doing so well.
@9TXBP2YIndependent6mos6MO
Depends what aid is for. Case by case basis. Overall, should try to maintain or decrease if possible.
@8NWXCW44yrs4Y
stop completely until we have no national debt
@8JYJ92R4yrs4Y
i dont even know what this means
@B3KFQF61mo1MO
I believe it should neither increase nor decrease; instead, it should stay the same. However, we should ensure it's going to the right places and people. For example, we should make sure our support to the DRC is going to its people instead of a warlord.
@9WYDMSD5mos5MO
Eliminate until the debt is eliminated and only allow foreign aid spending in the form of building agriculture and industry and providing training completely with no expectation of getting it paid back. end all forms of monetary aid except in the case of liberation movements who fight against occupying forces that are not considered right wing or neo nazi extremist groups.
@9WKLBWB5mos5MO
Decrease until the debt is eliminated and only give aid to liberation movements fighting foreign occupation or in the case of environmental disasters.
@9VD78J8Rhinoceros6mos6MO
Increase, but only for countries that have no human rights, when we are in a strong financial position to afford it.
@9TZYRSK6mos6MO
decrease, as our leaders tend to forget about us, the people, especially the indigenous peoples. I do agree with helping the people who need it, but we still need the support too.
@9TB2T597mos7MO
Only if an allied country such as Britain, France, America and other European NATO countries. But only if the conflict is happening within that country.
@9H64L5T1yr1Y
Spend that money on helping our own citizens such as those caught in the drug epidemic, the homeless, or those struggling with debilitating mental illness or disease. Why does our government refuse to spend money on its own people but hand over millions (or even billions) to other countries that are dealing with problems. It’s absurd.
@9FGJD5C2yrs2Y
increase for poor countries only
@9FDKD8F2yrs2Y
@9F84JWN2yrs2Y
only if a country is in a state of emergency.
@9F2XS9M2yrs2Y
I believe that it should be increased for countries that have no human rights violations, nevertheless, Canadians should be helped first. There is far too much going on in our country that the government is neglecting and instead they are using their energy to support rather useless things. Canadians are suffering more then ever, and our so called "democratic" system is not listening to our voices.
@9DFZ8V22yrs2Y
If in the interest of protecting democracy then yes , such as supporting Ukraine
@9VGGMWSConservative6mos6MO
Decrease. We need to look after and support our own citizens and reduce our national debt before helping other countries.
@9SNLZ3S7mos7MO
We should redirect these foreign aid spending to indigenous communities such as First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities to insure their health and wellbeing before helping people over seas as it’s important for decolonization.
@995SMBC2yrs2Y
focus on your country bro
Decrease, only to countries who we are aligned with or allys with
@964SF29Conservative3yrs3Y
increase but make sure money isn't going to corrupt leaders
@95HS9GSNew Democratic3yrs3Y
If the country requests or accepts it
@942SC4B3yrs3Y
Only if the money doesn't go to Canadians . Only if we sure that recipient are receiving help
@93QGJ9X3yrs3Y
We should help countries that we are allied with like Ukraine. However, our first priority should be the safety of our own people.
@93PNQFW3yrs3Y
It should only be increased once there are plans to resolve domestic issues such as inflation and unaffordable housing. Canadian priorities should be taken care of first.
@93GD98Z3yrs3Y
increase to help civilians in foreign countries, but more money should be put towards canadian citizens.
@92SBLVXConservative3yrs3Y
The massive majority of aid given to countries in need is siphoned off by the corrupt government officials for their own wealth and not received by needy people so why give any aid?
@8ZM4Q6D3yrs3Y
Only when a country is facing extreme poverty but has a stabilized ethical system no human rights violations.
@8Z5N9MM3yrs3Y
@8Z5KNTP3yrs3Y
I think we can increase it a bit more, for the countries who are in desperate need.
@8YYYWFS3yrs3Y
increase, because there are so many countries with no basic human needs.
@8WKB43Q3yrs3Y
Increase foreign aid if it is to help environmental issues
@8WGNW973yrs3Y
Keeping it at a normal range is better so other countries don't become too aid dependant or no aid at all.
@8W65SXT4yrs4Y
They shouldn't have a limit on aid spending.
@8VWXDZS4yrs4Y
Be cautious with the spending so keep current amount but look for ways to spend more carefully or wisely.
@8VWVVQ64yrs4Y
Help other nations but in a way that limits what that can do with the aid to not support terrorism or other unethical actions
@8VWTC45Libertarian4yrs4Y
Abolish. Focus on Canada first
@8VV3W4W4yrs4Y
we should spend money that we know will actually help them not just as a charity, no country will develop off of charity.
@8VSG7VX4yrs4Y
No, Canada's is in to much debt to begin with
@8VSDKLT4yrs4Y
Don’t forget about the rest of the world. But fix Canada.
Decrease until debt is paid off.
@8VJHXRW4yrs4Y
No foreign aid until Canada has no debt.
@8VFPMFX4yrs4Y
This shouldn’t be a set number. It should flex with the amount we are able to give after supporting the people in Canada. We cannot decrease because other country's rely on our help. But if we flex with our economy and deficit we could continue to help others and ourselves without sacrificing anyone.
@andreakkmr4yrs4Y
Increase, Canada is one of the main countries that benefit from the exploitation of foreign resources in developing countries. It is only fair to give a little back.
@8VDZG7Q4yrs4Y
In emergency we should totally be helping but we also need to focus on things like drug addiction, homelessness and water and decent houses, education and medical services on reservations and remote indigenous communities
Use only when really needed for other countries during disasters to aid the people of the country and less the politicans
@8V99D274yrs4Y
Increase, especially for countries with marginalized groups such as women, girls, religious groups, etc.
@8V87CD44yrs4Y
Increase, but use the budget on training and supporting educators, volunteers, activists, influencers who interfere with and aid foreign affairs through sustainable, non-violent, even creative ways.
@8V7LS654yrs4Y
Decrease but caution with foreign countries where terrorism is commonplace, also spend some $ on your own citizens too!!!
@8V6FCJJConservative4yrs4Y
Remain the same but redirect funds to individuals in needs, not to the governments.
@8V5CXDZ4yrs4Y
Should fund as much as is beneficial to Canada
@8V4ZMNDNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Why do we have so much homelessness. Then all the of those new people move here. They get homes and jobs. While our citizens have less.
@8V4X2C24yrs4Y
Provide help to friendly nations.
@8TZ74J64yrs4Y
Increase- on the countries that need it most More third world countries
@8TYTP9K4yrs4Y
Keep the same but don’t support countries with human rights violations but also give aid to indigenous communities who don’t have access to the same resources as white Canada
@8TYL7964yrs4Y
Don’t give foreign aid unless it a emergency
@8TY3NC34yrs4Y
Should be provided only if it is demonstrated that it will assist the foreign country to improve its ability to meet its own needs in the long run.
@8TY2YD24yrs4Y
We should give aid to everyone countries except any country that has human rights violations harbours or terrorism. And should reduce national budget deficit
@8TY23344yrs4Y
Decrease and eliminate funding to countries with human rights violations or terrorist links
@8TXL5VP4yrs4Y
There should be a greater focus on educating women, reducing infant mortality, and ensuring access to contraceptive health and abortion.
@shaelynj4yrs4Y
increase to all countries that need it or want it, but decrease to countries that promote hate
@8PNX7974yrs4Y
Decrease, other countries should only ask for help not all of them want are help
@8P36Q7F4yrs4Y
increase, if we have or can get the funding for it
@8NWW9PZ4yrs4Y
Decrease until Canadian citizens are looked after properly.
@8NWVGZF4yrs4Y
Stop aid all together. Let private citizens provide the aid as they choose.
@8NW2QCX4yrs4Y
Stop foreign aid completely and spend that money of vetrans the elderly and the homeless
@8NVXMKR4yrs4Y
it depends on what its about
@8NNGTXX4yrs4Y
Increase but do not submit to corrupt governments, who can abuse their use
@8KQFHL74yrs4Y
Increase, but provide aid in the form of building industry, farms and infrastructure.
@8KM7QR54yrs4Y
Increase, but we should not tie it to exploitative demands.
@8JZ2RGX4yrs4Y
Satisfied with what we have.
@8JTCWQ74yrs4Y
If there is a natural disaster or a substantial situation to cause loss of life.
@8JT494J4yrs4Y
Should be evaluated often
@8JMPSQP4yrs4Y
Decrease until the nation deficit is reduced but only give aid to countries that have no human rights violations
@8JK3BPSLibertarian4yrs4Y
Decrease and use the money to help homeless
@8GZDDYR4yrs4Y
help our people first and then help other countries. as long as we are not trying to convert them
@8G2TDMV5yrs5Y
Increase, but work with countries to decide how the money will be spent and make sure it is spent on that and not going into other peoples pockets. If there are human rights violations throughout society then maybe consider decreasing or withhold, however the majority of the time it is cruel to punish an entire country for the greed and abuse that the people on top sanction and support.
@9CXYHXF2yrs2Y
Decrease, amd use that money towards mental health, addiction, and homelessnes issues.
Decrease unless paying back debt
@9C62GJT2yrs2Y
Help if it is practical to do so.
@9BXMXLG2yrs2Y
We should only give foreign aid to Ukraine and to countries in emergencies
Increase for countries in a severe crisis, such as Syria and Afghanistan.
@99JYFP32yrs2Y
it is not really an answerable question given the fact that context and scenario are deciding factors
@99CLRHL2yrs2Y
Increase, We must set an example for our fellow man
@999G58Y2yrs2Y
it should be more put to people who need it and not just general governments, it should be put towards getting refugees safe
@98YHW782yrs2Y
Only aid countries with human rights violations that are significant and severe.
@98YDGW7Conservative2yrs2Y
Increase the spending, but have strict policies about how the modi’s handled and where it goes.
@98Q2T4C2yrs2Y
increase but limit to countries that have been victims of Canadian investment that has resulted in human rights violations
@96Z72XK2yrs2Y
When I can survive on disability without being in legislated poverty, then perhaps you can throw money at other countries.
@96TP9DL2yrs2Y
Increase, but only for those countries that need it.
@96SLV3P2yrs2Y
I think they should increase the spending by a little for really poor countries
@96SLCZM2yrs2Y
i think its a good idea to spend more, to keep status and to help other countries, because canada is a stable country
@95GXYR43yrs3Y
I believe in helping other countries - however, when I look around and see our own citizens suffering due to trauma, substance use, housing, and trying to stay afloat I feel that the money given to other countries should first go to supporting our own people.
