It is bigoted to assume an individual will have different opinions based on skin colour or genitalia. It promotes segregation and should not be tolerated. Western countries are a melting pot and we should be proud of it.

I want the FPTP system gone and legislation put in for it to never, ever return as it stands for the opposite of democracy. Though, I'm still undecided on what I would like it to be replaced with. Of course, I want every vote to matter in a perfect world. But unfortunately evil people (as in, selfish people, who want create division, who want to take away basic human rights) exist and I firmly believe they should never be allowed to partake in voting decisions

Each province should have the same number of seats, instead of allowing more densely populated areas to have more influence on whether parties win or lose

 @B2HND79from Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

Switching to PR voting system could improve fairness and proper representation, but many new challenges will be faced like political instability and lower local representation.

 @8V8LQD4New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

All votes should be counted and the party with the most votes after ALL have been counted should win.

 @B293PLFfrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

We do not need to be part of the British monarchy. I say more or less keep our system of government but without the head of state being a monarch and no need for a governor general representing them.

 @9JC6BKVfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

No, but more equally distribute the weights by culture and community, not by population; allow for the most diverse possible outcomes without losing overall importance of the popular choice. Something like 66% popular vote should guarantee a result, regardless.

 @9QZCYDNfrom Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

I think we should implement parts of it into our current system to make it more like a mixed-member compensatory system

 @9LHLKDCfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

No, instead give all candidates running an equal amount of screentime and determine the winner based on 100% of the voters.

 @9K6M454from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

This could get really unstable and corrupted quick as any other political system, only better used for parties themselves, not for the head of the state.

 @9JWMJCZ from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

Well mostly they should only be telling the truth about themselves and that's the whole truth by following the rules. They should not be telling lies or else it will lead to their entire elimination of becoming government.

No, not until a professionally curated, unbias, promoted list of pros and cons is published on the government website, so citizens have a common legitimate source of information to make their own dicision when voting on this.

 @8VV2P57from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VR933Sfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Add in rank choice voting for each citizen to have their top 3 candidates.

 @8TTCLGBfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

we should vote prime minister and our representative but get rid of party system and our rep should vote the way his/her constituents want him too. have small votes in riding for important subjects, so people tell rep how to vote not a party.

 @8TRPMHXfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I am unsure at this moment/ don’t have enough information to formulate an opinion

 @8T452LXfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

people need to earn the right to vote. the system should be proportional to that.

 @8RQFVPNfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

They should have proportional representation in certain matters but not all

 @8R27PYNfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Make it a point system we’re winning a province gets a point all provinces equal

 @8R26JKWfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and add instant runoff with mixed member proportional with rural-urban proportional

 @8QSP7FNLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

A non political party semi-direct democracy. Citizens vote directly for their city federal representative and directly for their head of state or "prime minister". Special interest groups would fill the role of crowd sourcing for specific issues. The position/stances of each representative would be listed for constituents to transparently see what the candidates believe.

 @8QKQFRPfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8Q5CJW3from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes and add instant runoff and allow coalitions and add another Deputy Prime Minister.

Create a second parliament with proportional representation, and keep the current parliament with the first past the post

 @8PFRMCYfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Regardless, there should be a Prime Ministry of the top 3-5 elected candidates that work together

 @8P4P98Sfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8NZGK76Conservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Should be Mixed Preportional. Reduce # of ridings but it will keep local support in Rural areas. Add a small % of Seats based on perportional representation.

 @8NW94WNConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

keep fptp. but change how many seats are allocated across the country. its no longer fair. toronto and quebec need LESS CONTROL of outcomes

 @8KG75SDfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No, ranked order voting ensures that citizens can vote for who they want without having to resort to the "lesser of two evils" approach many employ today.

 @8HDGVYCfrom Ontario  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, and include instant runoff and recall elections to remove unpopular heads of government.

 @8DQ7DSFfrom Ontario  answered…5yrs5Y

We should switch to Ranked Balloting, it would represent Canada's voters best.

 @9CMDTGLfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Maybe, I think it would be helpful if we were to try different methods and then see what works best for us as a nation.

 @9B8L5CVfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

No, switch to ranked ballot or multiple option voting and allow for more than one representative to run under a party banner. (E.g. Allow more than one conversative, liberal etc... candidate to increase choices per parties)

 @8V88N2Gfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TZB324from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TWT6YMfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, you should be able to elect Members of Parliament and the Prime Minister differently (e.g., I voted for a conservative MP in my riding but voted for a liberal PM) and it the final electees should represent what the country voted for
