If they were not to be completely legal, the consumption itself is the only thing that gets changed. The distribution and production of the drugs would still be illegal. This would lead to an increased demand for these drugs, with the supply side either; needing to increase supply via higher production, which in turn can lead to drugs cut with unsafe substances; resulting in more overdoses, more fentanyl, and more destruction in our communities with drugs. The other result it can lead to is no increase in the supply, but an increase in price for these narcotics. As addicts of hard drugs will do whatever it takes in order to get said drugs, this can increase theft & crime in areas in which crime is currently increasing due to drugs.
