Should the government regulate artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure ethical use?

I do not believe the use of AI is a government issue

I believe that if something harmful is posted online that was made with the use of AI it should be investigated in a case-by-case basis but I feel that there is no need to regulate day-to-day usage of AI.
